MDK..Decent soundtrack IMHO!

Does not have magic of papa SHIVHARI, like Lamhe, Chandani, silsila!!

But does not sound like another REHASED, repacked Mohabtaen, KKHH, K3G and MYKSH, crap! either.

Definately better than MYKSH..has great potential to grow.

CD is MADE IN INDIA..very flimsy, ugly packing..yuk!

Singing by LATA, Udit, sonu..pretty good, alisha is there too..kool!

Album start with Udt , Lata combo, very much on Signature tones of YRF/YJ stamped prototype music!! Hmm, u think..another KKHH?? but hold on! not exactly!!

It does not take that typical route..familliarity is there, u can feel kinship, with Lata's typical singing for YRF like DTPH, KKHH, Mohabtaen and K3G..but Pleasant to hear!

As u progress, u can feel album has its own character too! What i mean is diff instrumentaton than typical DAMN JL type, no hangover here, Like u see JEET PREETAM, showing again in MYKSH(except..asha ji ka sharara).

As album progress , music takes more contmporary feel, like Sandhilya's U are my sonia kinda turn, very pleasantly, alisha and Sonu singing! there!

I personally, it has a good POTENTIAL to GROW on u on repeated hearing! after u get over the LOOK and Feel of KKHH from Cover and begining of album!

I'll recomend this UNBIASEDLY to BUY and TRY and try to get RAHUL SHRMA's style a feel!

He does not show magic of GREAT SHIV HARI..Combo, But does not FALL in J-L ditch either..some where inbetween...Results are pleasant and ACCEPTABLE to my taste..

MOHABTAEN..I was disappointed.

K3G...at least u get break with Sandish Sandhliya's tracks.

MYKSH..I was Frustrated and pissed off to see Jeet
PREETAM..faithfully trying to fit in J-L shoes..damn!

Last album that I liked from YRF and i still enjoy it UNDOUBTEDLy is DTPH by Utam Singh..damn singh had to make 100 songs before Yash Chopra could select ten/100..tough job!!! But results paid off, and Utam Singh, seperate from YRF could not re create DTPH magic!
While YRF did not used Utam singh again, ? reason?

YRF rather went back to the son of thei broken/dependable DUO Shiv Hari. i.e rahul sharma for this one.

For SATHIYA..YRF/Mani ratnam...Rehman is there to score..Wait and c?? Which style rules in datone, TRF or Mani Ratnam?? Cheers!! :baaa:  :vsneaky:

Another Critic's OPINION??

After having listened to the songs a couple of times I actually think the album is not half bad.I especially love the song "Jaane Dil Main," even though Lata sounds a little old the lyrics are great. I can't wait till the film releases because I am sure the picturization of the songs will be great. And u can be sure that this album will sell like hotcakes ( because of the star cast and probably even more just because of the Yash Chopra banner). The album is still a little disappointing because everyone said that Rahul Sharma would be the next best thing in Bollywood, but in actuality the album is typical Yash Chopra fare.

I didn't think the music of MYKSH was too bad - true, some of the songs (Ek Ladki, Humne Suna Hai) sounded a lot like Jatin Lalit, but they were hummable. And I thought songs like Sharara and Hum Dono were kinda different from the usual YRF.

As for Saathiya, does anyone know if A.R. Rehman is going to be rehashing his tunes from Alai Payuthey, like he did with his Mudhalvan songs for Nayak?

Bhaskar Dude!! i did not say, that it does not have J-L feel, I did say, it does start with that stereotypical j-l YRF feel, that doomed J_L but as u progress it becomes differently freshning!!
It is same way, that u come across Sandish andhliya's numbers in k3g! feel, better...

I did say that, i was not expecting a lot from this yrf album, after getting disgusted by MYKSH, except sharara..I said that..So it sounds surprisingly good to me, But it is not in the league of DDLJ/DTPH/Chandani/Lamhe/Silsila etc!!

But it becomes more appealing and hummable on repeated listening...this is my UNBIASED opinion...and ofcourse I did not make it!! :baaa:
I found it BETTER than my EXPECTATIONS!! period.

Review by indiafm..I concur with them, being better than Mohabtaen and MYKSH!

http://www.indiafm.com/musicreview/02/mdk/index.shtml

Rahul Sharma does a superb job in churning out a number of melodies in one single package. Probably the best score after Dil To Paagal Hai surpassing even Mohabbatein and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, this album will be fast disappearing from the music store racks. Go for it before you miss out even the final copy of the day !!!
:baaa: ;) :ffs: :xmas:

Reviewer's Rating: 6.5 out of 10
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My rating..7.5/10..comparative to Mohabtaen and mYKSH..Much much, way better!

The medley marks the end of the album. In the end, one can not help but to feel that they have been cheated using Yash Chopra standards as a gauge. Yet, keeping in mind that this film mark’s the debut of Rahul Sharma, and that this is probably Anand Bakshi’s last contribution to a Yashraj film, the album is decent. The singing for the most part is well done, the music is enjoyable, and the lyrics are not atrocious. For hardcore Yash Chopra fans, or even Hrithik Roshan fans, I’m sure you will find this album a must buy.
