Alibaba Aur Chaalis Chor (Dharminder) DEI DVD was reviewed in the early days of Zulm.net by Saharan Sunny Audit. Excellent Excellent DVD. (Could not find that thread today).
(Ragz posted this link, which has roughly the same content as was in Saharan Sunny's zulm posting.
https://www.dvdreviewer.co.uk/DVD/26141 ... hran-Audit)

Homi Wadia too had made this title (similar titles) twice (1954 B/W, 1966 Color). Homi Wadia title was Alibaba And Forty Thieves and starred Mahipal in the 1954 version and remade it in color in 1966 starring Sanjeev Kumar & L.Vijyalashmi (south actress). I never saw the B/W version but the 1966 version was my fav of those days. And, then in the 1980s, came the Dharminder, Hema, Zeenat high budget version.

Noticed the 1966 version on youtube and was pleasantly surprised with the print. It's direct film to 25 fps transfer and hence default progressive. I did not expect a good print for a film that most have forgotten. Anyway, it was a charm to see that film again and in a good print. It has some good songs. Specially, the 'Banaaye Jaa Bigaade Jaa' song & 'AA Jaa Baahon Mein Alla Alla -- Mukesh duet'. And of course many more nice song-dance combos (Music Usha Khanna), normal for the fantasy films. Worth a watch.

Another remarkable thing of this youtube posting:
Film CC shows 4175 meters = 152 min. (Film CC says 'Partly In Color' but I remember, all of it was in color when released)
But, the youtube version is 154 min @ 4% speed up (160 min film time -- Full 8 min extra :D :D )

You mean, the Sanjeev Kumar one ?? If it's Sanjeev Kumar one, is your DVD PAL or NTSC. If your DVD is NTSC, check if youtube's 25 fps version is better, as I expect ??

I felt very nostalgic as I brushed through this DVD review by Shahran Sunny Audit. https://www.dvdreviewer.co.uk/DVD/26141 ... hran-Audit

Sageer, I'm waiting for your reply.

In the post above, I mentioned Sanjeev Kumar's Alibaba & Forty Thieves good print on youtube (720P).
And now, I found 2 of the songs in even a better print 1080P.

Main Masoom Dil Masoom
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3i1rP6 ... rt_radio=1

and

The climax song: Dekhiye Zara Pyar Se
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5qiqaG8XNk

Haven't seen the song (perhaps the most famous from this film) Banaaye Jaa Bigaade Jaa in 1080P yet. Hopefully, this song too makes it in the 1080P or better.
(This Sanjeev Kumar film has too many good colorful songs, all worth posting in 1080P or better)

-----------------------------
One of the reasons for difficulty in finding Sanjeev Kumar's Alibaba & Forty Thieves is that mostly it's posted under Alibaba Aur Chalis Chor, which is Dharminder's film. Moreover, 'And Forty Thieves' can be written in various combinations,
'And/ &'
'Fourty/ Forty/ 40/ Chaalis'
'Thieves/ Chor'.
