I was thinking about getting 'Madhuri Dixit Dhamaka' on DVD as the tracklisting looks good but the last time I took a chance on song dvds the quality was iffy to say the least. One was clear, the next blurry, sound shot up and down, and the selections were usually inexplicable. Does anyone have this DVD and if you had to choose a song DVD to buy, which one would it be. Also, there seem to be SO MANY AR Rahman song collection DVDs. Is there a guide to which ones worth investing in? Thanks.

If you do a search for song dvd's in the forum you can find most of the information. Try in the old forum also.

In short you can safely buy all the DEI song dvd's.
Mission Bollywood is the best song dvd period.
Too hot to handle, Down Memory Lane, EROS Dance Dhamaka( DEI/EROS) are some of the best.
Avoid all EROS, Videosound and YRF song dvd's.
Check the other thread regarding 6-pack song dvd by Videosound.

AVOID!!!

All Dhamaka series have very poor video and audio quality!!

If you want to listen to these dhamaka series only through a stereo system like Faddy once mentioned then they are okay for that purpose only.

In your AVOID list are you including 3 or 4 DEI released "EROS-DEI" brand Dhamaka series (Shahrukh Dhamaka, Dance Dhamaka etc) as well??

No actually I forgot about those. They were good, I meant like Century Dhamaka 1/2, Century Khans, Lata-Asha Collection etc...the recent sh*t ERO$ put out. They started with CD 1/2 and all went down hill from there.

For a very good example click on the below link :

I'm going to lodge a qualified disagreement here. The Aishwarya Rai Dhamaka I have is definitely on a par with the YRF Kuch Kuch Hota Hai DVD. Also, the Madhuri Dhamaka (from ICDS, not from IW -- they're different, I only have the former, which has more songs) isn't too terrible. When you take into account the worst of the worst -- i.e., the awful Eros Khans DVD, with such poor sound quality that it's almost unwatchable -- the Madhuri Dhamaka comes out near the top.

There are a lot of terrible song DVDs, including, IMO, all the Bollywood Hangamas and the "Album of Six" with Lajja, Asoka, DCH, Indian, KMJNB, and RHTDM. The latter was completely *awful* sound-wise. In comparison to these, the Dixit dhamaka I have (b/c as I've said, there's more than one) is good.

You know what....VERY SORRY for this confusion. I am talking about the recent ERO$ DHAMAKA series they released. I am not talking about the earlier dhamaka songs which where done with DEI, neither am I talking about any pirate, video sound, weg or other company releases...those are probably alo more better!

BTW...the Bollywood Hungama series isnt too bad...its copied mostly from originals.

Bad ones :

ImageImageImageImage...and many more :(

Anything ERO$ releases with 100 songs sucks period!!!!!
