the story was quite similar to that of FAREB (milind gunaji in fareb --compare with-- naseeruddin shah in takkar). BTW there are two Farebs starring Milind Gunaji. This is the one I'm talking abt http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286620/ -- supposed to be based on "Unlawful Entry". While Takkar was based on "Good Cop Bad Cop", wasn't it?

Full Fareb list
1. Fareb (2005)
2. Fareb (1996)
3. Fareb (1953)
4. Fareb (1968)
5. Fareb (1983)

Yes, It was similar to Fareb but only as a sub-plot

The main plot is very neat. I dont think I have come across a similar story anywhere,
Have u seen this film for yourself?

Just got my hands on the newly released Shemaroo version. Its Anamorphic, the PQ couldnt have been better (maybe if it was slightly sharper - but miles ahead of the moserbaer version) its uncropped even too. The only problem - which was with the moserbaer too - is the audio. Both have this 'hissing' sound, if I remember Takkar was originally mono and I think the audio on any DVD now cant be improved. The Shemaroo is slightly more clear than the moserbaer

With the screen caps gone, I can't figure out which TAKKAR we are talking about. 1980 (Zeenat Amman), 1995 (Sonali Brendre) or 2008 (Prasannjit) one ??

Thanks.

The 2008 Takkar is a Bengali film, and I'm not sure if the 1980 one has been released on DVD yet? This discussion was about the 1995 film with Sunil Shetty, Naseeruddin Shah and Sonali Bendre.
