Although I agree that Slumdog probably isn't the best Rahman has done, this is just typical attention seeking. After all, what was the last film Darbar composed music for? The only ones I can remember are Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, and Deewangee (I think).

Slumdog isn't anywhere close to Rahman's crowning jewel. But assuredly enough, his oeuvre is worth of the highest achievement in it's field.

After rumours about the Academy planning to sue him for $50,000 million, Ismail Darbar, who had accused AR Rahman of having bought the Oscar awards, says he is ready to apologise.

1. Would AMPAS really sue over this? Have they even heard about Darbar's remarks? Note the use of weasel word "rumours."

2. $50,000 million???

It's bad enough that he(Darbar) claims that he only said it to force Rahman to produce better music than the luckluster(according to Darbar) he's producing now. But Darbar himself can't be engaged to produce music of equal quality or superior to Rahman caliber.
