Yeap thats right EROS has re-released Devdas with improved picture quality - so they say.

The first DVD was done from a postive 35mm print used in cinema houses now the second DVD uses a negative made from the original negative. I have yet to see the quality but once I do I will inform you guys what its like. This transfer was done at shemeroo.

I can also tell you thanks to a leak from EROS offices that Devdas will re-release in two extra versions later on in the year: 3rd version and 4th version.

The 3rd version feature the same transfer as the 2nd DVD release and will have a new 45min documentry on a second disc.

The 4th version will have a 5.1 English Dubbed international version with the 45min Doc on the second disc.

My advice wait for later in the year for the 3rd version.

Incidetnally all versions will have the same running time as the first DVD. No extra scenes will be on the DVD as per the instructions of Bharat Shah.

Arrgh. Why not do it right and use the IP... I have little
hope this one is more than marginally better, especially
if Shemaroo did the mastering.

Yaar if thats true then that is great news!!!!!!

Let us know soon as you can how good this version 2 really is!!!!!


I'm a huge fan of the Devdas movie and will probably buy all versions just to have in my collection (even though I hate that b&&&&&&&ds! eros are making more money from me!).......what can I say!? the money I save from not buying 99% of the crap films that come out I wanna spend on the only film I loved from last year! :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

Yet another Devdas DVD? When will they stop? Three years from now, they'll give it so many DVD's, it'll take the amount of your car's worth to buy all of them! Some of these just HAVE to be pirated!

when are you guys going to review dvds wow 3 DVDS REVIEWED IN DECEMBER not to be rude but step it up
now as far as the 54 minute deleted scenes and the two alternate endings. I am trying to upload them onto my comp so i can send them to people.

Haven't you heard the famous saying, "If you can't say any thing nice, better not say any thing".

I think this is the main reason. Lately, not many good quality Indian DVDs have released with DEI gone on Sabatical.

Could you describe the deleted scenes? I'm curious to know if any are between Chandramukhi and Devdas, since there were rumors before that Madhuri's part was substantially cut, and that scene where they're lying side by side near the pool cuts oddly to the messenger's arrival.

Sunny can you speculate as to why they would consider it suitable to use Shemaroo as an authoring company ? After all Shemaroo has got all its DVDs wrongly encoded :oh: . Can you take this up with ur source ?
