Darjeeling Ltd is playing in Cumberland theatre Toronto, 8 shows daily.
Darjeeling Ltd has been getting rave reviews.
rana are you going to watch Darjeeling Ltd anytime soon ? when you see the movie would you kindly put your review of it at my thread here ? thanks
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9725Sure.
Looks like, Darjeeling Ltd is running in the art circuit, one city at a time. I guess, it'll make to Ottawa in 7-8 weeks for 10-15 shows, that's when I'll get to watch this film. Just for the nostalgia (Rail journeys) sake.

Don't forget, DARJEELING was only on 2 screens that weekend.
Here's a list of top theater weekend averages:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/we ... teravg.htmThis has become quite a common phenomenon as studios try to limit theaters to just a few for higher profile limited release films. However, the bad thing is this example that I saw in action for a film in limited release (FIERCE PEOPLE) last month:
-------------------------------------
I was in line buying my tix for another movie when I saw a woman buy close to 200 tix for this Griffin Dunne movie! It was obvious too that she was prob. part of some marketing department or something b/c she seemed a little fidgety, plus she was buying really random combinations (50 seniors for the noon show, 25 adults, for the 4pm show, et al.). I saw no group of people anywhere, plus I think one of the shows had already started anyway. She charged them all and everyone in line got to watch the machine spit out a whole endless row of tickets. Very odd....so we'll now know that if the weekend grosses seem a bit high on Monday, we can attribute it to these folks buying out the seats.
So not all boffo limited weekend averages are a good thing.
Wow! That link gives mind boggling per screen opening weekend figures. Lion King made close to $ 800,000 per theatre (not sure if it's same as per screen). Darjeeling Ltd is just $ 67,500 per screen. Still not bad.
I wonder, what kind of ticket pricing that must be for that $ 800,000 collections for a weekend ?? Say, 8 shows daily Fri Sat Sunday with a 800 capacity, implying an average ticket price of over $ 40 ??
Ajy1, you mentioned someone buying tickrts in bulk, were you referring to Darjeeling Ltd, Fierce People or for some other film ??
