I saw this film recently on Shemaroo DVD. Let's see who can identify this Amitabh film without any outside (imdb etc) help.
This AB film is from pre-Sholay time and is unique in many ways:

1) Amitabh is hero (of course) and Neeta Khayani is introduced as heroine. imdb lists no other film credited to Neeta Khayani.

2) Mukesh sings for Amitabh (not unique but not too many of Amitabh songs are in the voice of Mukesh).

3) Lakshmi Chhaya is incorrectly credited with Neeta's role at imdb site. (And, vice versa)

4) Film is interesting and not run of the mill routine. Story is kind of adult (Dastak type) but is tame by today's norms. Also, film Dastak is mentioned a few times.

5) One of the climax fight is between the hero (AB) and the side hero Shatrughan Sinha and the next fight is between side hero and the baddie.

6) Most of the film Prem Chopra seems to have a positive character, but we all know there is some "Daal Mein Kaala".

---------------------------

I'm sure someone will quickly solve this quiz and then I'll change the title of this thread for further comments if anyone interested.

Yep, that's correct.

Pre Sholay days all/ most AB films were flops, so this must have been a flop too. Specially when it's heroine was not only a newcomer, but never heard of again. But, the film is very interesting. Much more than Cheeni Kum. I'm sure if this film released after AB became popular, it would have been a hit.

I saw it on Shemaroo DVD. Zulm.net has shots/ DVD review of its older Video Sound release
http://www.zulm.net/modules.php?op=modl ... e=&order=0

Note that in DVD details, it's Lakshmi Chhaya credited as heroine and not Neeta Khayani who actually is the heroine, but never appeared in any other film or TV, to my knowledge (imdb).
