I've started this thread for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's upcoming, Talisman, starring Amitabh Bachchan. I saw the trailer in the theater, when I went to watch Eklavya.

Not to my knowledge, but I guess it should be on the Eklavya DVD.

Naaa Eklavya DVD only has promos for Namastey London, Cheeni Kum, Provoked & Dahek.

Not found the trailer online (yet :x ) but found this snippet on indiafm describing the trailer;

Quote:
Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently claimed that Talisman is ‘The Lord of the Rings’ from India and rightly so because from the teaser of Talisman it doesn’t appear to be an Indian film in any sense. Talisman is a fantasy film about two lovers and three aiyaar (an aiyaar is a character from Indian mythology who could change his form to anything that he desired).

The trailer shows a battlefield flooded with soldiers on horses who are just waiting for one indication from their leader to go ahead on the war or back out. Only one person has the power to stop the war – Talisman. Of course it has to be Amitabh Bachchan.

Bachchan’s Talisman look is evidently inspired from Ian MacKellen’s character of Gandalf from the Hollywood extravaganza ‘The Lord of the Rings’. In a white robe and with long white hair-locks, he is riding a white horse and guiding a battalion of soldiers. One vertical half of his face is covered with a mask. And while you expect a mythological touch to a fantasy set in India, you are surprised when Amitabh speaks in English shouting out ‘No War’ to the soldiers. Is the film contemporary? Is it mythological? Or perhaps a timeless fantasy? Only time will tell.

Apart from Bachchan, the major portion of the trailer is digitally developed and enhanced with special effects. The film is intentionally given a blue colour theme throughout. Interestingly the text font of ‘Talisman’ used in the trailer is directly derived from the font of ‘Harry Potter’ series from Hollywood.

I saw this film's trailer when I went to see Eklavya. This looks like one of those projects that will never get made, which isn't anything to worry about since from what we've already seen, it's best if it actually never gets made.

The trailer made the film look like a poor rip-off of LORD OF THE RINGS. All the special effects were really bad. I hope this never gets made, because I have no hope for Vidhu Vinod Chopra anymore. He should stick to producing.

First, I don't know that I'm ready to cast aside my hope for Vidhu Vinod Chopra based on one "good rather than phenomenal" film. Eklavya wasn't the masterpiece I was hoping for, but it sure as hell isn't comparable to Subhash Ghai's Yaadein or Ram Gopal Varma's Naach (as both those films quite sucked ass). Second, I agree that the trailer for Talisman was less than impressive. Third, though, it was just a trailer: I don't think Chopra's even begun filming yet, and I don't think it would be right for me to "hope the movie never gets made" based on one poor, unimpressive commercial for the "idea" of the picture. ...That's it: no "fourth."

I based my opinion on Vidhu Vinod Chopra on all the films he directed: I thought none of them were good.

I think NAACH is a great movie; one of Ram Gopal Varma's best, along with SATYA and COMPANY.

Wow: I loved Parinda and 1942: A Love Story and very much liked Mission Kashmir; I liked Eklavya. I hated Naach, liked Company (albeit as I found it overrated), and rather liked Satya (though it's been a while since I watched it).

Looks like the talisman in The Spiderwick Chronicles that allows the viewer to see hidden creatures.
