Do Waqt Ki Roti 1988

Was this film ever released? Apparently it was 8 years in the making and according to internet sites it was released in 1988, but I never ever seen it anywhere. Maybe it was never released? Has anyone seen it?

It stars Sanjeev Kumar, Feroz Khan, Reena Roy and Sulakshana Pandit. T-Series released it on LP, and the music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal. It is directed by Satpaal.

Any information would be useful.

Here is a photo from the movie:

I guess there are no dedicated SANJEEV KUMAR fans who would have kept track of his film after his death.. :?:

Someone mentioned there were trailers of this movie in the 1980s and its a dacoit story. With big names like Sanjeev Kumar and Feroz Khan, someone on here must have heard of it :?:

Don't remember whether released or not, but it sure must have completed ??

If imdb details show Year, I think it's the year when film got ready ??

Listings of Sanjeev Kumar films show Love and God finished / released in 1986. Sanjeev Kumar was dead by then (died Nov 1985). So, a film dated 1988, must be completion date.

But imdb does not list any more details than lead male actors, so - - - - ??

(I still have many Film Information/ Trade Guide magazines from 198s. This film announcement might be in there.)
Another source can be "Film Information/ Trade Guide" Jan 1989 issues that must list all films released in 1988.

that sucks! hasn't the technology reached to the level, where industry can basically make one look like another and make him/her sound like other, especially for scenarios like these where the actor/actress passes away before completion.

i think in english movies, they use computer graphics to make a replica. i wish such technology comes to india and complete all those movies that are in the nowhereland due to such circumtances.

Rana - please check your sources. Someone mentioned that according to some year end trade journals, Do Waqt Ki Roti did not have a threatical release in 1988 or 1989. Could you check earlier or subsequent years incase the year specified by imbd is incorrect.

You would think sites like imbd only list released films. What is the point of listing completed films if they are not released and the public can't see them?

I think unreleased or even incomplete films should be available on DVD if there is enough demand. What have they got to lose if people don't mind watching a film that makes no sense! Most films don't make any sense anyway ... LOL

I am presenting some LP record scans with additional information about the film. Hopefully this may help you establish if the film was ever released. Thanks for your help! :D

It would have been interesting to see Sanjeev Kumar and Sulakshana Pandit together in Do Waqt Ki Roti. I heard they were personally involved. Apart from this movie, they acted together in Waqt Ki Deewar, Uljhan and Chehre Pe Chehra (another monster movie of Sanjeev)...

I now have a DVD-R copy of this film as it was shown on ZEE TV last Sunday, hence the presentation of the screenshots above. Sorry for not making it clear, and thanks for offering to help.

I am still searching for Gul-E-Bakkavali also starring Feroz Khan and Reena Roy, but I think it was not released.
