Hi friends ! Just thought of starting a new thread on the topic of how movie locations around the world are used in Bollywood especially as a tool to deceive us ie the audience that all's happening at one place and at one time.

I have taken an example here of my fav film Mohabbatein as I thought there cud be something i know that I may wanna share with u all. I wud be the happiest if anyone can share interesting tit bits (perhaps with some shots) of other movies also. I am Really excited on this topic.

As we all know that in any film, irrespective of the outdoor locations, all indoor scenes are actually sets made inside Film Studios. So I am not going in that part. As of this movie, my focus here is only on the external sets and locations.

Gurukul shown as a north Indian town in the Movie( because the 3 boys alight from an indian train at an indian Rly station)...... is Actually the Longleat House in Wiltshire, UK:-

The Classroom of Raj Aryan was Made for the movie. It was personally the best attraction for me as the fake material used to disguise as a stone made structure looked rock solid in the film as u can see here:-

Remember the Temple outside Gurukul for the Hawan Scene. But a temple outside Longleat?...obviously not possible in UK. So it was also a set. Views before and after the set:-




Now here comes the interesting part:

Inside gurukul shd be obviously inside longleat isnt it? AMOF, Its not. Here is the proof:

View of Queens College, Oxford UK:- Thats right- the inside and outside are actually 2 different locations in reality.


As per Uday in the film, Girls college of Ishika(Shamita Shetty) is just behind Gurukul. Another hidden fact: The place is nowhere near longleat. It is the American (Inernational) University at Bushey, Hertfordshire. Here are the matching images:
