Hello.

Since I'm pretty new to the Indian moviescene, maybe you guys can help.

I now there has been made Indian horror/exploitation/action movies, what I want is tips (and not on new movies, pre-90ies please). I now not that many is released on DVD but there must be some way to get them in India at least? I know there are some action movies released, but I want tips on what to check out. Is there any without romance in them? I like the concept of song/dance parts, that I want mixed up with raw shot-outs, violence and so, is there any movies you can suggest?

Didn't realise that. There was a news story on thehotspotonline.com at the time of the earthquake happened that they were badly affected by it - can't find that news story now.

Let us know how the Maula Jat DVD is once you get it.

Where did you get this information? Do you know what titles will be included in the box set? Will this box set be available as a region 1 release?

Yes, the hot spot online used to sell Bollywood/Lollywood horror films without subtitles on VCD under the brand name "Bubonic Films".

I would guess that it might contain some of the releases that Bubonic Films owns the rights to. I have no idea though. Most Mondo Macabro titles in the USA are Region 0 (a few is Region 1 though), but most likley it will be a Region 0.

The information comes from different news pages on the internet, the only info is that it will be a box set. Other releases planned is The Warrior with Barry Prima, and a Indonesian WIP flick (that's the one coming next, it is listed on thier website to).

Got the Maula Jat DVD home today.

The DVD is in a slimcover (I changed it for a ampty dvdcase I got, since the slime one was ugly and in the wrong size for the cover).
The cover is in english (badly written), the DVD got a menue, on wich you can choose to start the movie or one of the 5 songs (also, the DVD covertitle is Maulajut, the dvdmenue title says Mula Jat).

The film is taken from what seems to be a VHS-master, allthough it looks okey picture wise, the sound wasn't the best though. But since it's pretty cheap to buy, and the only way I know of to get it on a factory pressed release, it's worth it if you want to see it I guess, atleast I think it is.
