Hey All

Apparently this was televised ... or will be televised. Does anyone know where and when it will be shown in the UK?

Thanks,

Muz.

These awards are as crappy as the Filmfare or should I say any other Indian film awards. All the categories are pretty much reserved for the 'Chopra & Johar' camp. Indian film awards are going from bad to worse. Each year it seems only the mediocre work of a few is even considered for the awards.

This year the winners are as follows:

Best Film - Veer Zaara
Best Director - Yash Chopra for 'Veer-Zaara'
Best Actor in a leading role - Shah Rukh Khan for 'Veer-Zaara'
Actress in a leading role - Rani Mukerji for 'Hum Tum'
Actor in a supporting role - Abhishek Bachchan in 'Yuva'
Actress in a supporting role - Rani Mukerji for 'Veer-Zaara'
Performance in a comic role - Akshay Kumar for 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'
Performance in a negative role - John Abraham for 'Dhoom'
Music Direction - Late Madan Mohan for 'Veer-Zaara'
Best Story - Aditya Chopra for 'Veer-Zaara'
Best Lyricist - Saeed Qadri, Javed Akhtar
Best Male Playback Singer - Kunal Ganjawala (Murder)
Best Female Playback Singer - Sunidhi Chauhan (Dhoom)
Samsung Style Diva - Preity Zinta
Samsung Style icon - Hrithik Roshan
Best Debut - Ayesha Takia

Other than maybe the Playback singer category not one of the winners is deserving. By the way, what in the world is Style Diva/Icon?

Yeah, I was there actually on Saturday. I was quite a nice show, but very long and it was freezing in there.

IIFA is as corrupt as Filmfare I guess, so I'm not even commenting on the - mostly undeserved - winners.

bwaahahahahaa, i want to die laughing on the floor with that list. movies that don't even tempt me to watch trailers to. I liked Veer-Zaara to some boring extent, but it ain't worth crap, except for some songs.

That is the only award I can agree with (and the only one Veer Zaara deserved).

Boo!
