The trailer for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next starring Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan and Sanjay Dutt is out. Looks very classy. Your thoughts?

Agreed, the album is very good. (CD came out today)

Gets up to my favorites for the year as well. Among the ones that I've heard this year, here are my ratings:

Bose - 9/10
Black - 8/10
Lucky - 7/10
Bunty aur Babli - 6/10
Kaal - 5/10

Too early to call a rating on Parineeta, but it will probably make my top 3.

PARINEETA was a super cool Meena Kumari - Ashok Kumar film. One of my all time fav's. It has great story line, a bit like Devdas (much shorter and far better)! It also has one great song... a wedding fav... 'Gore Gore Hathon Mein Mendhi Lagake...' :P

Shantanu moitre is heck a a great composer..

first track reminds you of Kareeb style composition, even Chan Chan from Munna bhaii!!

style is simillar to gori tera gaon etc, where zareena wahab is being coached!!

Saif seems suitable for musician, sanju baba..no no not at all!

It is a FRESH soundtrack, feels kinda Bengali back drop!

Not a huge fan of the album as a whole, but wow, "Raat Hamari Tho" is just gorgeous. I've been playing it for the last two hours on repeat (something I rarely do, unless it's a quality Rahman track). Almost reminiscent of "Bhaage Re Mann" in Chameli, but even better.

If I had to pick a favorite, it has to be "Kasto Mazaa" - a wonderful number by Sonu with the sound of a train chugging in the background. Sonu is in splendid form here. Kamran, like yourself with "Raat Hamari", I cannot stop listening to "Kasto Mazaa" ever since I heard it. The other numbers like "Piya Bole", "Kaisi Paheli Zindgani", and "Raat Hamari To" are gold as well. The only weak number in this album, I have to say, would be "Dhinak Dhinak Dha". All in all, this is a terrific debut by Shantanu Moitra.

For some reason, I seemed to have skipped over that one while downloading (wonder why that happened). I'm listening right now, and it's definitely a solid track!

Kamran, glad to know you liked it. It's my favorite song on the album. What did you think of the jazz number by Sunidhi Chauhan? I thought it was very innovative.

DVDCollector, I like to hear your thoughts on the music of "Parineeta", if you've heard it.
