No media mail man. I have had bad experience too (i.e. we ship media mail and customer didnt receive for 8 days and this person complained to all channels in the world. We NEVER do media mail. When you check out our cheapest option is media mail still, but we pay the difference and post it in first class).

Its first class. If you want priority, select priority and we will charge flat $2 for this promo.

As usual, this offer can not be combined with any other offer (at present none anyways)

22 Days

I am quoting an experience by someone who listened to TIO (or TIS). This is the same feeling everyone got or atleast told me that they have got.

People who listened to the 20 minute song that comes in English and Tamil says that there are no words to describe and this is a milestone in the history of music.

Quote:
I have long believed in the Schopenhaurian theory (my paraphrase) that it is only in the contemplation of true art is the self able to rise above itself/its ego.
And today, it was so true.
A sneak preview into the Thiruvasagam in Symphony (Oratorio) by Maestro Illayaraja elevates another dull day spent clearing cobwebs and scrubbing the carpet. Some thirty people were invited by Father Jegath Gasper Raj to listen to two compositions from the Symphony.
One was a rather lengthy piece from the Oratorio, and the other, a composition that is less Classical Western, more to appeal to the common man.
As I listened to the rising and falling cadences of the Oratorio, my eyes closed, i could feel the skin of my hand, the back of my neck break out in goose pimples. Apart from that physical feeling of ecstacy, I hardly was conscious of my self. Schopenhauer?!
I don't know. Maybe it was Illayaraja.

I am 10000% sure we are in for a great treat.

I actually don't like all this hype. If I have too many expectations, I expect the expectations to be met :P I'm actually frightened all this might be a promo stunt. I don't doubt Ilayaraja's brilliance, but I do have questions about people promoting this highly anticipated album.

"This is the same feeling everyone got or atleast told me that they have god."

god? heheheheh  8)

Expect more of this when the album is released. I don't doubt that it will be a good album, but hardcore IR fans can be scary :D :D :D

This is probably(?) the biggest hype illayaraja has ever seen - I have no problem with it. my problem is - will I understand the music and the content ??, esp. given this is not popular filmi music we are talking about. I suspect a certain amount of music appreciation/training will be needed to fully understand, appreciate and comprehend this work - which I seriously lack :(

This album will probably take a few listens to get into, but since it is a devotional album maybe IR has made it somewhat accessible to people who don't know much about music.

I am quoting what TIS/TIO contains from one of the people who was involved and listened to the CD
Quote:
The entire album is orchestrated by the Hungaryan Symphony Orchestra and only one song, which is about 23 minutes long, has English counter point with chorus in English and tamil as well. This piece is a selective version[condensed] of 'Sivapuraanam' in Thiruvaasakam. This is something very unique and our Indian audience has never experienced one like this!

The rest of the songs are set to different tunes appealing to different types of 'common man'!

one for a couple,
one for a loner
one for youngsters[teens]
one for seekers
one for those care-free man
one for a western audience.

Each one has solo, duet, chorus, and symphony notes.
