A quote from Indiafm:

Earlier a colorful Madhubala was seen only in the Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya song from Mughal-e-Azam.
----------------------------------

Indiafm and others are reporting MEA as the only film where Madhubala appears in color film. Now they are claiming colorized MEA as the first Color Film of Madhubala (Hint deleted).

But there is another full length film of Madhubala that was shot in Color (and released).

Name it??

Yep, that's right. This film was long held up in the hope that Madhubala will recover from her illness and be able to complete the film. After Madhubala's death, they used Preetibala for the remainder of Madhubala's scenes. I haven't seen this film. Good or bad, but this film had lots of Madhubala shot in color.

I have only seen clips of the film ... I haven't seen the whole thing. In fact I recall that there were some clips on a videotape of 'Meena Kumari Ki Amar Kahani' which was a film about Meena Kumari. After the film there was some scenes from Madhubala films and Jwala was included there.

Sure if that's what you want. But, it'll be an exact code back up copy. Find me a good source and I'll buy it/ rent it and----.
BTW, I found Jwala in my VHS list (VHS not located yet). I'm not sure whether it's Madhbala's Jwala or Shatrughan Sinha one. I faintly remember segments of Madhubala's Jwala.

Shatrughan Sinha was in Jwala (not the Madhubala one), as well as, in Jwalamukhi.

Well, I rented Jwala. The VS Disc is on Time Bomb Media Dimension disc. Surprisingly enough, it played OK untill 10 min before the film ends and at that point it doesn't play at all.

A few observations:

1) It shows 1980 censor cert; over 4400 meters. This should mean roghly 160 min film. But, this VS version is only 118 min. So, it has been heavily cut.

2) Madhubala in color is heavenly. Songs are colorfull and music is good. It's Shankar Jai Kishan music after all. Although not a multistar film, it's starcast in today's term sure makes it a Megastar Film.

3) I noticed only one scene where Preetibala was used for Madhubala. This scene was the last scene where Jwala character appears in the film; Jwala goes to jail to suggest Sunil Dutt to escape.

4) I did not notice when, where and if Asha Parekh appears.

5) 118 min of film is on 4.95 GB.

Earlier I just scanned the DVD for Madhubala scenes.
Not sure about this sequence. Will have to see film more seriously to confirm who plays what character.

Still haven't seen the full film, but scanned it once more. Asha Parekh is Princess's (Madhubala) Sakhi Ranjana.

--------------------------

Does any one remember this melodious song, Madhubala sings for Sunil Dutt:

Dekho Jee, Aankhon mein Dekho,
Aankhein Hamari Hain, Sapne Tumhare,
Dekho Jee.

I'll have to check who the singer might be, but it doesn't seem like Lata. Very melodious and pleasant song.
