The maverick writer, director & actor of theatre and films, Makrand Deshpande is delighted, with his maiden project Daanav which was nominated for Director's Fortnight Section in the Cannes Films festival 2004 which was held in May. A unique honour indeed!!

Even before his first directorial film Daanav is out, Makrand Deshpande has already completed his second film "HANAN" with Sahara Manoranjan.

The Film is written and directed by Makrand Deshpande, Music by Annu Malik, Lyrics by Javed Akhtar and Sameer, Edited by Jasvindar Saluja. "HANAN" stars Manoj Bajpai, Sonali Kulkarni, Sayaji Shinde, Seema Biswas,Deepak Shirke, Suhasini Mulay.

"HANAN" is about a mentally deranged couple Pagal-pagli is left by Goddess Bhagvati. But the Goddess herself is cursed by a woman, who had suffered from her husband. Pagla being an auspicious dhol player of Goddess. He has to become a true husband to remove the curse of the Goddess. Thus his wife posses by Goddess had to suffer the curse. Makrand with Sahara Manoranjan believes in quality film making and is all set to drive "HANAN" in all renowned films festivals.

Manoj Bajpai, who says this, is the kind of film he believes in.
Hearing this Makrand is glad and says "that makes at least two of us, `I'm glad I have found a new set of people who believes in my movies as much as I do.
