My picks.

TAAL
LAGAAN
DIL SE
ZUBAIDA
1947 EARTH
MEENAXI
SAATHIYA
PUKAR
ONE TWO KA FOUR
RANGEELA

Man!! It was real hard!!

Come on give us ur picks, all you Rehman's fans out there!

**I took Swades out of top ten list! on repeated listening, comparative to lagaan, it feels too ordinary, esp that DEKHO DEKHO, song has been forced in by hook or crook, does not belong and flow with rest of sound track spirit!

For sure, it does have its moments!!
I'll advise people to retune their LAGAAN cd for repeat listen!

In no order:

Dil Se
Taal
Lagaan
Zubeida
Rangeela
Saathiya
Bombay
Swades
Yuva
Meenaxi

Just missing the cut are 1947 Earth and Thakshak. Still 3 of those soundtracks are from this year, so yes ARR is back with a vengeance.

well, looks like IN top 10 must are

DIL SE
TAAL
ZUBAIDA
LAGAAN
MEENAXI
SAATHIYA

VARIABLES ARE:

RANGEELA, BOMBAY, ONE TWO KA 4, PUKAR, YUVA, SAATHIYA, ROJA, TLOBS,NAYAK, SWADES, 1947 EARTH, TAKSHAK.

IT IS NOT THAT I DID NOT LIKE those!
AS I SAID IT IS A HELL OF TASK, TO COME UP WITH 10 ONLY!

IN MY CRITERIA, NOVELTY, CONSISTENCY, FRESHNESS, LYRICS are also considered, that gives an album, a VERY UNIQUE character!

lets keep voting, and see, how many votes each album gets!

I don't remember off hand, films that have music by ARR, but looking at the films named above, I'll name a few that I liked (music) the most. Actually the one that I liked the most, no one has mentioned so far. SAPNAY. And JEANS.

Taal
Dil Se
Sapnay
Jeans

With A R Rahman, you get something fresh and new all the time, so choosing the list will be hard, but I think I have narrowed it down to my personal favourites

In no particular order

1- Dil Se
2- Saathiya
3- Rangeela
4- Swades
5- Humse Hai Muaqabala
6- Yuva
7- Bombay
8- Taal
9- Bombay
10- One Two Ka Four

I know this is for A R Rahman's Hindi soundtracks, but I think if there was to be a list for his overall soundtracks, then Kandukondain Kandukondain has to be ranked along side the above list

I don't think HTHS (2002) had AR Rehman's music in any of the songs. I see following name for HTHS:

Nikhil Vinay, Daboo Malik, Bappi Lahiri, Bali Brahmbhatt, Sajid Wajid & Nadeem-Shravan

Oops my mistake. Corrected my post. You can see the source of my error (@ Indiafm search I searched for "rahm" and "rehm". deselected other non ARR names, but missed out HTHS).

Yep, Sapnay, Jeans, Dil Se, (Fiza; it's not ARR music), Taal, Rangeela are definitely in my top 10 list.
I don't know which song is from which film out of Bombay & Roja. One of these or both will be in my top 10 as well.
Daud and Hum Se Hai Muquabala too will be in my top 10.

But, there are lots of names above that I have no clue of their music/ songs.
Lagaan, Saathiya, Tehzeeb are not in my top 10 list.
