Watch Garv on TV before it releases

By IndiaFM News Bureau, July 02nd, 2004 - 1300 hrs IST

In a first-of-its-kind promotional strategy, the makers of Garv have tied up with Star Gold where they would premiere the film on the channel before it hits the big screens. Yes, Garv will be screened on Star Gold on July 8, a day before it releases in theatres on July 9, 2004. But wait, the channel will just screen 15 minutes of the film. The viewers will thereby get a glimpse and taste of what the film is all about and decide whether to watch it on the big screen or not.

The film's actress Shilpa Shetty and supporting actor Arbaaz Khan will host the show, which is also giving away some free movie tickets for the Sunday show. This kind of curtain raiser for the film will be bigger than what a trailer or a preview or the making of the film has to show and if successful may click a trend of sorts. Also most probably the 15-minute screening may end at some interesting turning point of the film to build up your curiosity.

Sound like Promotional fluff to me...which is a waste as the original DVD would be out after two days!!!

Didn't some TV channel recently screen 15 minutes of the latest Harry Potter movie or something?

I think MTV screened first 10 minutes of THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK last month.
