Hum Tum

Yash Chopra´s Kunal Kohli directed ´Hum Tum´ opened to a very good response in Delhi city and Mumbai plus at other ´A´ centres, with opening being 100 percent. The same cannot be said about the B and C centres, where the opening was shockingly low at about 20-30 percent.

Verdict - ´Hum Tum´ being is a low budget fare, the excellent weekend may help it sail through in Delhi-UP and Mumbai territory, but the outcome in the other territories will be interesting to watch.

Police Force - An Inside Story

Akshay Kumar´s 10 year old movie ´Vidroh´ renamed ´Police Force -An Inside Story´ had a better than expected opening for such an old product, specially in the B and C centres.

Verdict - ´Police Force -An Inside Story´ is a fungus laden product, still if it can scrape through with minimal losses or cost coverage in the smaller centres, it will be creditable for the leading man Akshay Kumar. Iit has heavily damaged the prospects of ´Hum Tum´ in the smaller centres initially.

Yuva

The unimpressive opening of ´Yuva´ at many places last week sent shockwaves in the industry and as the week progressed the collections fell further and even in the Metros where the opening was good the collections fell drastically.
The average Metro collection was about 65 - 70 % for the first week.

Ist week total (calculated) All India : 7.45 cr - 7.50 cr

Verdict - Considering the heavy prices at which ´Yuva´ has been sold to the distributors, it is bound to entail heavy losses to all of them. Business in B & C centres has been very ordinary.

Uuf Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai ...!

Verdict - The movie is a disaster from day 1 and this brings the total to three consecutive loosing ventures from Rajshri after two blockbusters and one hit movie.

Lakeer- Forbidden Lines

As expected the movie crashed after an excellent start, even in the smaller centres and in Sunny´s stronghold East Punjab the movie was badly hit by the Punjabi movie ´Asa Nu Maan Watna Da´.

Ist week collections :
Bombay - 44,38,969 from 17 cinemas (5 undisclosed)
Thane district - 5,74,007 from 3 cinemas
Ahmedabad - 11,95,055 from 10 cinemas( 2 undisclosed)

Ist week collections : 2,07,78,984 from 102 cinemas (reported)

Ist week total (calculated) All India : 3.60cr - 3.65 cr

Verdict - Though the collections are on the lower side, given its low distribution price, not many of its distributors will lose and if they do it will be a negligible amount.
