hey all... sorry this is offtopic but i didn't know where to put it. Anyway, I might be heading up to London for a bit (2 months, maybe more) and I was looking for some info.

Generally, what are some reasonably good areas (maybe ones where alot of Indians live) and some decent places to stay? Obviously I'll be staying at a hostel/hotel in the beginning, but how much are rent prices - monthly? Where are the good rooms/apartments to rent for students/young adults and how quickly can one find these places?

Any info/links on rough estimates and any other info would be much appreciated. I am mainly interested in how much the prices would be. I did just graduate a year ago so I can't exactly afford to stay at Holiday Inn or some really high class hotel LOL.

Unless you have lots of money, you probably want to consider staying out of Central London. Most of London appears to be full of Indians, but Southall (in West London) and Eastham (in East London) are predominately Indian Towns. East London is the cheapest part of London, but West London is a better place to live in.

Renting a bedsit about 10 miles away from the heart of London would be the cheapest, although you will be able to get into central london within half-hour tube journey...
