Abhishek Bachchan in Hum Tum

By IndiaFM News Bureau, May 28th, 2004 - 1200 hrs IST

That’s the surprise of the week. While nobody would have expected the least, Abhishek Bachchan features in this week’s Bollywood release Hum Tum in a guest role. And with this, Abhishek completes his hat trick release this week after the consecutive release of Run and Yuva. In his cameo, he plays the part of Rani Mukherjee’s husband. Also this is the third time he is paired opposite Rani Mukherjee (though Saif is Rani’s main co-star in the film) after Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai and Yuva. The duo will also be seen together in Yash Raj Films next venture Bunty aur Babli to be directed by Shaad Ali.

This is Abhishek Bachchan’s second stint at a special appearance, the first being in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum, which unfortunately didn’t make it to the big screen as the movie runtime went too long.

Oh, I c, He is looking for a HIT!! I guess 26th time? You think, that will bring more people to theatres to watch ABHISHEK, in addition to rani/saif!!?? I doubt!

BTW! if GARAM AISH/SRK ISHQ KAMINA couldnt save SHAKTI...this is far fetched!! Abhishek ke kapde utrva ke bhi kuch nahin milne ka, imho

arsh yaar abhishek is getting better slowly...he has a really brief special appearance..only one real dialogue and he delivers it really well i thought...

i dont think they are trying to get people to the cinema with abhishek..or else they would have plastered his face on the posters...

i think..actually this is prolly wat did happen..abhishek and jimmy were in the yashraj camp filming dhoom..and they decided to put them in the film..and ill be honest id rather see a face in a film that i do know rather then someone i dont ..no matter how miniscule the role is.. 8)

Lackluster guest appearances!
By Our Correspondent ©2004 Bollyvista.com

While the response to 'Hum Tum' is comme ci comme ca, the surprise guest appearances by Abhishek Bachchan, Ishaa Koppikar and Jimmy Shergill were not very impressive. Bollyvista had told you in advance about Rishi Kapoor's presence in the film. Both Saif and Rani are banking heavily on the film! Let's wait and see!
