http://www.deccanherald.com/deccanh....dy~dead

Veteran film producer and Dada Sahib Phalke award winner B Nagi Reddy died here on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. Mr Reddy, who founded Vijaya-Vahini, Asia’s biggest film studio in 1950 and produced over 50 films in the four South Indian languages as well as Hindi, had been ailing for the past six months.

His condition deteriorated on Monday and he breathed his last in the afternoon.
Mr Reddy (92), leaves three sons and two daughters. Some of his famous films include “Missiamma”, “Enga Veettu Pillai” and “Maya Bazaar”. Born in 1912 in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Reddy launched “Andhra Jyoti” in 1945 and and the popular children’s magazine “Ambulimama” in 12 languages in 1947.
Subsequently, he launched several other magazines like “Bommai” and “Mangai” in Tamil and “Vijaya Chitra” and “Vanita” in Telugu and Kannada. He closed down Vijaya-Vahini after the Tamil film industry moved out of studios in the 1970s and started the Vijaya Hospital and Vijaya Health Centre.

He headed the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce for four times and All-India Film Sammelan for two terms. He was honoured with Dada Sahib Phalke award in 1981.

This site lists his death as Nov 8 1977 :hmm:

I watched the songs from his Gundamma Katha the other day. His films usually had pretty good music.

Other films in Hindi by BNR:

Ram Aur Shyam
Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani
Swayamvar
Julie
Shriman Shrimati

Sadhu Aur Shaitaan was produced by N.C. Sippy according to the SKY DVD cover, but they were wrong with Teesri Manzil. The director is listed as A. Bhimsingh, who directed Tamil movies, so it could be a remake of a Tamil film.
