JANASHEEN and Kal Ho Na Ho, both are releasing this week.

Is KHNH such a big film that all Toronto show slots have been given to it and none to JANASHEEN?? Is JANASHEEN releasing at all in North America this week??

I thought JANASHEEN was a big film as well.

ever since the debacle of PREM AGGAN, Feroz Khan is no longer considered a big draw, and Fardeen never had a draw he could call his own....which is perhaps the reason why no one overseas cares....I believe all overseas audiences want to see is the candy floss entertainment from the stables of Yash Chopra/Karan Johar et al.....not that JANASHEEN will be any better cerebrally !!

Actually, it's JANASHEEN, being an action film, that will do justice if shown in I-MAX; with proper sound; on Big screen.

What surround sounds do you need from mono dialogues and from family drama??

Planet Bollywood verdict:

http://www.planetbollywood.com/BoxOffic ... 124925.php

KHNH:
Ist Week All India Total---10.25--10.30 cr

Verdict:-
Kal Ho Naa Ho is very good in the Bombay, Delhi and Mysore circuits, fair in U.P., Bengal and Rajasthan but below average in C.P. Berar, C.I., Nizam and Bihar. The movie has maintained exceptionally well in multiplexes and good cinemas, collections dropped in lesser cinemas almost everywhere. It has proven to be a blockbuster in the overseas market.

JANASHEEN:
The other Idd release, Janasheen started dropping at most places after a bountiful 4-5 days, but due to its low price and good start, is a safe bet for its distributors.

Ist Week All India Total: 7.50--7.55 crores.

Verdict:- Janasheen, sold at a price that is approximately half of Kal Ho Naa Ho, would not prove to be a loss-making enterprise for any of its distributors despite the drop in its collections after 4-5 days. The makers should thank its superb start and very reasonable price racy music and commercial content and above all Feroz Khan´s superb acting and classy direction and on time release.
