I just finished the quiz over at rediff.com for Subhash Ghai and realised that this was the first choice for Anil Kapoors role in Taal. Also read somewhere a while ago that he was offered the role in Devdas that of Jackie Shroff.

He must have been really stupid not to do them or must have a really good reason. Anyone know why?

actually he had a very good reason.... He didn't want to be in a supporting role as it would classify him as a character actor.

Now this is pretty dumb, but in a way he was right. Seeing as his career is in a downhill, had he taken the roles, he would be only offered character roles - look at Jackie Shroff now.

Heck even look at AB, who is doing only a little bit more than character roles...

I think it is better to do 10 character roles a year like Jackie and make a lot of money than do 1 main role for a flop movie. :D

He gets a chance twice and manages to screw himself both times.....dumb a**
