Publicity stunt or for real??
A fleeting topless shot of a city-based actress in a new Hindi film has sparked off a controversy here, with the 23-year-old starlet threatening to sue the producer-director for breach of trust.
At the centre of the controversy is a one-second topless scene in which the actress, Janaki Shah, is shown tearing off her shirt on being challenged by her male friends that women cannot do all that men can in public.
But given Bollywood's past record of generating such pre-release controversies, it is possible that the issue is being hyped to provide undue publicity to the film. The movie is scheduled for release in December.
