I am trying to identify a Govinda film which I only saw a small part of, but I would really love to buy since that small part was so funny.

The film must have come out around 96 or 97 and the scene I saw had Govinda guzzleing down some Bhang and doing what I think has to be the most athletic dance I've ever scene, I knew Govinda is great dancer but who knew that he could perform such acts.

If any one can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Isn't it the same film, where Govida's friend/ helping hand/ servant gets a love potion for a girl and a dog eats it instead. Then on, Dog is after him. I think, it was Satish Kaushik or Shakti Kapoor or ---. I'm sure I have seen the film and probably, even have its Progressive DVD. But, there are many candidate DVDs to check, unless someone remembers the name.

I think it may have been Chote Sarkar in which Govinda is convicted for murder. Shilpa Shetty and Kadar Khan (inspector/commissioner respectfuly) try to make tell the truth by going under cover as a beggar (KK) and daughter (Shilpa)....once the truth is out Govinda is on the run and goes into a village where I believe he meets Divya Dutta and does a song/dance routine...this is where he drinks bhang and dances around....

I believe this might be the movie you are looking for...

“CHHOTE SARKAR” is a story of a rich young man Amar (Govinda), who bears the responsibility of whole business after the death of his parental uncle, with Amar his maternal aunt also lives in the house. One day when Amar steps out of his car in front of the office, a beggar Jagmohan (Kadar Khan) approaches him calling him Rohit-Rohit and when they both meet in the office, Amar learns that this poor man has a daughter name Seema (Shilpa Shetty), who was in love with a man named Rohit, a duplicate of Amar. Rohit dies in an accident, which shattered Seema’s life. Jagmohan begs Amar to meet Seema. Seema on seeing Amar becomes overwhelmed with happiness and sheds tears of joy and embraces him calling him Rohit. Did Amar agree to become Rohit? Was Seema’s life saved? Did Amar succeed in playing the character of Rohit?

CHOTE SARKAR..was one of GOVINDA movie..I liked, I think, he had double role..with some twists in the story!!

Nice dances with SHILPA!!

OH, I thought, this was one!! ONE GOVINDA is KILLED?

But, this is the movie, where SHILPA is POLICE GAL!! Thats What I am talking about!!

Yeah Chhote Sarkar is the flick with Shilpa as a undercover police inspector....

Another movie that has Shilpa as a police officer is "AAG". This was Sonali Bendre's first film (hindi language anyway). It has Govinda pretending to be a villager, who's actually seeking revenge against some villaings who killed his gf (Sonali). The villager is helped by a local village girl (Shilpa) who is actually a police officer. Lots of stupid comedy in the first half, followed by action in the second. Typical Masala films with some ok songs.

Thanks for everyones help although based on dates some of you have to be wrong.

"CHHOTE SARKAR" was released in 1999 and AGG was released in 94 and I am sure that I saw this in late 97 or early 98. At the time I was visiting my soon to be wife and her parents were watching this. They kept up to date on their hindi movies so I am sure this movie was mostly likely released in 97 (maybe 96 or 98.)

I only saw this scene and no leading lady was in it so I am not sure who she was. My wife thinks the movie could have been Hero No.1 (What do you guys think?) I have no clue since at the time (before getting married) I was not really into Indian movies.

I think the movie you are talking about is called Rajaji, with Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Satish Kaushik.
