By: Abid
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the first half of 2003, a total of 117 films have released. Of these 67 were straight Hindi films and 50 were dubbed in Hindi from English and other languages. The industry lost Rs. 110 crore during this period with the number of hits or anything close to be earners for their film crews being limited to a finger´s count! It´s a sad state of affairs indeed with only recent tidings proving to be any such different. We present our summation of the successful films of the first half of 2003.

Khwahish
The film has turned out average at some places.

Tujhe Meri Kasam
The film is a hit in Bihar, Orissa, Maharashtra, Hyderabad Nizam but a disaster, in Delhi-U.P., Punjab and Rajasthan.

Chota Jadugar (3-D) *
The film is a dubbed-3D film aimed at children and turned out to be a hit in Mumbai and a handful of other places but is also losing at many places.

Jajantaram Mamantaram *
The film is average in Mumbai and a few other places but losing at many places.

*- For these films we must add that these "children" category films are yet to be released at many small centers and that would improve their position somewhat.
