Well, it looks like, I have to do this honours too!!

I listened to album 2-3 X, it is overall, RACY, Youthful(not like DCH)..Easy listening(on ur ears.

It is not AS GOOD as KNPH, but easy on ears!1 and with good picturizations, might work, it gives ample opportunity for HRITHIK, to shake, right and Left..

I thought the score was very disappointing. I wasn't exactly expecting another KNPH, but this soundtrack hardly offers anything that you can recall after an hour. The title track sounded nice in the trailors, but that's the only nice part of the song as well, rest is ordinary. Nothing else catches the eye or ear. Nevertheless, the movie still looks interesting, and is hopefully better than KNPH.

MUSIC REVIEW - SAAYA

The Bhatt camp has never had any reservations about borrowing ideas from Hollywood for their Hindi films. With dead spirits being the toast in Bollywood at the moment, it's no wonder that after 'Raaz', Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt have remade another version of the Demi Moore/Patrick Swayze starrer 'Ghost' which was earlier remade into 'Pyaar Ka Sayaa' (Rahul Roy, Sheeba and Amrita Singh). The concepts for their films may not be original but, one thing is for sure, when it comes to music the Bhatt's always have had a good ear and this time it's no different. For 'Sayaa', they have roped in Anu Malik to compose the soundtrack with additional composition by their current favorite M.M. Kreem.

Quite surprisingly the album opens up with a composition by the guest composer M.M. Kreem. Titled, 'O Sathiya', it is a melodious track which has been written by the late Anand Bakshi. Rendered by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, the beauty of the track is in its simplicity for which Kreem deserves full marks. Udit and Alka do a great job on the vocals, while Anand Bakshi's lyrics are simple yet impressive. The track has instant recall value and should hit the charts soon.

On the whole, the soundtrack of 'Saaya' is for listeners of slow music and it is not a bad buy despite the fact that it has Anu Malik repeating tracks on more than two occasions.

** I think, FILm will WORK!

UPDATE on KMG audio...I agree, with this that RR has been RECYCLING, like N_S, not only his hindi tunes, but vastly, English tunes too..remember..AAMAL/KMDSP/NTJNH..but despite, all have that old world, melody(trade mark of N-S and RR) and were Racy to some extent)

KMG, is nothing like KNPH..but I must confess, that I did not care much about KNPH, till I saw the movie and saw songs nicely picturized and ofcourse, GOOD AUDIO/VIDEO on DEI dvd enhanced the effect..

But, I am CONSISTENT in my REMARKS, that KNPH was OVERRATED album, and Rajesh Roshan was OVERRATED to GRAB all MUSIC AWARDS that year, IMHO>>

So OVERALL< you can STILL lump, KMG with other RR albums for HRITHIK, etc..AMALL/NTJNH/KMDSP..(his MOKSHA was really good), but still, it will be ENOUGH for DUGU fans! and I think, will SELL..

BUT, mind u, I always say ""EVERY THING THAT EVERY THINGSELLS IS NOT GOOD!!""

Agree for the most part. I thought the music for KNPH was strictly average, but had good picturizations which worked in its favour.

Plus KNPH being one of the biggest hits of the year also helped its case.

IMO KMG is a lot better than the trash we've seen for Hrithik's other films, keeping in mind its going to be quite a different flick we see the music in. I'm sure that it'll serve the purpose for the film once it comes out.

Ali, yaar!! precisely, that was my point, If these songs GELL well, within film plot, it will work..Lyrics are above verage, very meaningful, as far film's plot is concerned, and will compliment well!!

It was nice to hear TAZ(STEREO NATION) first time? in film soundtrack!

On the flip side!! It is NOTHING FRESH or NEW NEVER HEARD before kinda affair! here!

IMHO, Rajesh Roshan, is a GARDEN VARIETY composer, of LOW VERSATALITY and LIMITED RANGE!!NO EXPERIMENTATION, and LATELY, he has started using ENGLISH MUSIC tunes as INSPIRATION, very successfuly too..

HE ends up, using, SAME ORCHESTRATION/INSTRUMENTS and MUSIC PIECES, giving kind of FAMILIARITY to HIS SOUND TRACKS!His ORCHESTRATION, potential, is VERY LIMITED!

I was not EXPECTING, any thing, DIFFERENT from him..either..

Still, out of his RECENT work, for his BRO! DISREGARDING to THE FATE of FILMS, FLOP/VS BLOCK BUSTER!

I LIKED KOYLA the BEST SOUND TRACK, I still enjoy it!!

After the stupendous success of "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai", papa Roshan wanted to make something a little hatke from the standard fare for his beta Hrithik. So - Papa Roshan thought to venture into the science fiction genre. And just to make sure that beta doesn´t get overshadowed by some 3-foot alien, he has Hrithik playing a mentally-challenged boy for the first time. It´s great that papa is so concerned about his son, but in his quest to make the perfect film, papa left out a big part of what went to make KNPH a success - music! Rajesh Roshan gets away with murder in an album that has only one tune with repeat value.

That tune (for those that have missed the trailor) is the title song. Udit Narayan and Chitra have a good time with this romantic ditty, and for a change Chitra is given something that is a little bit more vocally comfortable than "Armaan" and "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon". A hummable tune PLUS lyrics to match - this is what a hit song is all about.

Unfortunately, it´s downhill from here. "Idhar Chala Mein Udhar Chala" has a sensuous overtone - but nonetheless - the Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan song is nothing to write home about. Worse still is their other duet "Haila Haila". This number seems to have fallen off the train of 80´s Jeetendra-Sridevi films. Yes, Uncle Roshan, I am comparing you to Bappi Lahiri.

"En Panchiyon" is soft in the sense of "Kyon Chalti Hain Pawaan" from KNPH - and is probably the second best tune on the album thanks to a catchy chorus and Shaan and Kavita´s apt vocals.

"Jaadu Jaadu" is situational at best. It appears in two versions - Udit Narayan and Adnan Sami share the "magic" with Alka Yagnik in each respective version. Even Adnan´s throaty vocals are unable to boost this number or make it stand out.

Speaking of "Magic", Taz guest stars on the album singing probably the most bland number I´ve heard him sing in terms of rhythm and music. Still - I´m sure that with Hrithik flexing his muscles and dancing skills, the number is sure to be a hit.

It´s sad that in an album of such status for such a big budget venture, the Roshan brothers have had to resort to young Hrithik to make the music come alive with his presence in the film. If the album is a potential hit at all, it will be due only to the song picturizations and Hrithik Roshan himself. If this album was for a film of unknown stars, it would be forgotten before you could say "Koi Mil Gaya".

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai wasn't a good soundtrack at all! It was too teeny-bopperish! The songs were very popular, but wot can you do when a young, handsome male is beating up guys like Tarzan and dances like thunder?

Looks like we have another hit, regardless of terrible music. :oo:
