Ravi Chopra is a low-profile director who has returned to wield the camera a decade after 'Kal Ki Awaaz' (1993). With 'Baagbaan', he has shifted gears to the emotional arena. He says, "If I come across a good thriller, I'll still do it". 'Baagbaan' is basically a romantic story of an elderly couple madly in love with each other. If a man holds his child's finger and teaches him to walk, why can't the child take care of his parents when he becomes an adult, he asks seriously. Their children are increasingly neglecting the older generation today. It may not be happening in every house, but this unfortunate phenomenon is increasingly prevalent. Amitabh says when the son comes to his father's house, every day is Diwali for parents. But when the father visits his son's house, every day becomes a day of mourning.

Director Ravi says that in 'Avtaar', the root cause for the children abandoning the parents was money; whereas in 'Baagbaan', the parents find it difficult to understand the reason for their grown-up children not reciprocating their love. It is an emotional rather than economic problem, he adds. When asked about Amitabh pairing with Hema Malini, he said that a 60-year-old husband and a 55-year-old wife - complement each other in looks and are totally in love. "My dad B R Chopra can't stay without my mom even for a day and insists she accompany him on his outdoor trips." Hema Malini looks smarter now than she did in her youth. In fact, she looks better than most girls of today. But Amitabh and Hema, despite doing a spate of films together, never really evoked a feeling of romance. However, 'Baagbaan' may surprise or shock you, he adds.

but, i can see ur point, those deols r not direct product of Hema/dharam..

BTW!! Can u RECALL, AB, Hema films, with Zeenat Aman, included in that..

One was Ali baba 40 chor..but Dharmendra, no AB?

Arsh, there is no film which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Zeenat Aman.

Hema Malini and Zeenat Aman were together in the following films:

Ali Baba 40 Chor (1980) with Dharmendra
Krodhi (1981) with Dharmendra and Shashi Kapoor
Samraat (1982) with Dharmendra and Jeetendra
Taqdeer (1983) with Shatrughan Sinha and Mithun

Arsh yaar, there is no such film! Honest! Despite having been in four films together, it is only in Ali Baba 40 Chor that the two actresses have scenes together. The song Sare Shaher Mein Ek Haseen Hai Aur Woh Hoon Main Koi Aur Nahin in Ali Baba 40 Chor was brilliant where they both compete for attention from villians.

I am 100% sure there is NO AB/Hema/Zeenat flick.

To put it another way, Amitabh Bachchan did the following films with Hema Malini:

Gehri Chaal (1973) (not romantically paired)
Kausati (1974)
Sholay (1975) (not romantically paired)
Trishul (1978) (not romantically paired)
Do Aur Do Panch (1980) (not romantically paired)
Naseeb (1981)
Satte Pe Satta (1982)
Desh Premee (1982)
Nastik (1983)
Aandhaa Kanoon (1983) (not romantically paired)

With Zeenat Aman, he did the following films:

Don (1978)
The Great Gambler (1979)
Dostana (1980)
Ram Balram (1980) (not romantically paired)
Laawaris (1981)
Mahaan (1983)
Pukar (1983)

So Arsh you will see there is no overlap!!! :;): I think you are confusing Zeenat Aman with Parveen Babi, and hence it could be Do Aur Do Panch or Desh Premee.

AB/Hema..in Desh Premi..yes!!

Wasn't Zeenat in Andha Kanoon..too?

[The song Sare Shaher Mein Ek Haseen Hai Aur Woh Hoon Main Koi Aur Nahin in Ali Baba 40 Chor was brilliant where they both compete for attention from villians. ]

Is this song included in DEI dvd?

Desh Premee - AB was paired with Hema Malini, and Parveen Babi, whose entire career rested on AB's multi-starrers, was his sister in the film.

Andhaa Kanoon - Amitabh was paired with Madhavi for his special appearance. The hero was Rajnikant, and the heroines: Hema Malini and Reena Roy. Zeenat Aman was not visible at all in the film. LOL

Ali Baba 40 Chor - The song is definitely in the DEI dvd and its the best print I ever seen of that movie!

Chat later :) :)

Oh, ok..I remember that SONG with Rajni Kant..oh, it was Reena roi..not Zeenat..ok..

Lets see, a friend ask, me for a film song..AB is kinda magician, and he says(sub titles) that he can walk on thin air, make rain fall down and make fire etc etc..per my friend and both Zeenat/Hema there..

Oh..I have seen, all HEMA/AB movies..did not remember, him being Magician..in any..

He was Magician in JADUGAR..but Hema/Zeenat were not in that film..

Mahan..It was Parveen Babi again, along with Zeenat..

Only song, with magic kinda thing , I could think, would be HEMA/Dharam..Jadugar Jadugar jayega!! But I dont remember ZEENIE baby in that song..hmm!!

Faddy..can u tell us pls?

The answer is Do aur Do Panch. But it is Hema Malini and Parveen Babi again. Parveen Babi was considered Zeenat Aman's clone so the confusion is understable!

Amitabh makes those claims and show some magical tricks to impress Hema Malini and Parveen Babi and to piss Shashi Kapoor in a comical way. He then burst into a song:

Toone Abhi Dekha Nahin, Dekha Hai To Jaana Nahin, Jaana Hai To Maana Nahin, Mujhe Pehchana Nahin, Duniya Deewani Meri, Mere Peeche Peeche Aane Nahin.... Kisise Se Haare Nahin Hum.

But lets see if Faddy comes up with a more precise answer that you are looking for!!

I think, u r right..man..it looks very likely, confusion between parven boby and zeenie baby..but I will watch that song, in

Ali baba..i do have that dvd!!

It is strange, thinking retrospective..Zeenat/Hema, never shared screen together, besides that song from ali baba..

I always..loved AB/Hema pairing..and would love to see them again, in BAGHBAN!

thnx for all your help..yaar!
