GREAT FACE VALUE/GREAT PERFORMANCES/TIGHT, WELL CRAFTED FILM/DEFYING NORMS>>

ANDAAZ..B- (5.5/10)

HUMMING RECYCLED MUSIC/FACE VALUE with 2 BEAUTY QUEENS/HIGH on SENSUALITY and SKINS/AVERAGE to BELOW AVERAGE performances/GOOD last 30 minutes and WELL HANDLED CLIMAX

ARMAAN..B+ (7.5/10)

DECENT but SOBER FILM/AVERAGE, SLOW MUSIC/SUPERB PERFORMANCE by PREITY ZINTA/GOOD PERFORMANCE by ANIL and AB(limited role)/DECENT by GRACY SINGH.

J2M2...B (6/10)

PATH DEFINING in its OWN RIGHTS AND GENRE.

HERO ..B- (5/10)..Let down, after GADAR!

PS..I still have not seen.. ISHQ VISHK and HAASIL..heard, positive feed back from friends..will UPDATE>>

Out of these, I only WATCHED BHOOT in theatre in DD 5.1 sound, and that was GREAT!Other film, that will be benefited from theatric watch is HERO! But hero DID NOT HAVE DTS sound track, originally, on DD EX< that will be DD 5.1 only, if theatre is not EQUIPPED properly..So dont EXPECT DTS for HERO>>

Ishq Vishk- Light hearted archie style entertainer...... nothing new in the story but impressive debut from Shahid kapoor .. amrita rao is very very impressive..... the fact that this is a light hearted college romance and the way it has been treated makes it very wtachable.. good music..

arsh bhai i havent seen haasil yet..... but have heard good things about the performances...... ishq vishk i would give 7/10...
Bhoot i would give 8.5/10 for the treatment and the performances ...... as u said horror was in the psyche.. i didnt really get scared watching the film..... but there was constant twists and turns...... i just hope now after the sucess of bhoot we dont have a string of crappy horror films from bollywood.......

Andaaz(4/10) Storyline old as the hills.. tremendous appeal due to the dutta-chopra combo.. i feel chopra took the cake here.... she oozed sensuality......

Armaan(6/10) Mainly becuase of the great performances from the star cast...... otherwise the film drags in places.....

Indeed!! sunil, even RGV should stay away, from HORROR, now onwards!! He can make good THRILLERS!

ARMAAN!! I agre, dragged indeed! It is overall, DECENT, but SOBER/SOMBER film, with no repeat value!and no ENTERTAINMENT for YUPPY VIEWERS of FLICKS like CC/ANDAAZ/IV etc!I'll give my impressions..in ARMAAN Reviewed thread!

ANDAAZ..I have been too GENEROUS!!Believe me, esp, because, I liked the last part, with 3 main actors together...

Priyanka...I agree, carries SENSUALITY..By I liked her CUTE portrayal in HERO..I dont know, why she reminds me of RAMAYA KRISHNA! from CHAHAT!!

She is on Heavier side, and will be out in just a couple years! as she is no KAJOL/Preity and even Manisha!
First half of ANDAAZ was TERRIBLE!! even Lara was STUPID, very bad on diologues, AKKI>>so restrained, never seen him like that..Lara is NOT A GOOD DANCER imho!Disco dance was AWFUL, IMHO..

2nd half..Raba ishq and couple other songs, just kept on showering, from no where!Begining, post interval, EMERGANCE of Priyanka from NO WHERE, just to VOEW! akki!! was not good at al..IMHO..Film picked up with LARA re appearing..so NOW HOLD ON TO YOUR BREATH..What I am going to say!!

I was MORE IMPRESSED with her performance in DEGLAMORIZED part!! LARA was GOOD!!

They both need LESSONS on DIOLOGUE DELIEVRY!!

I liked AKSHAY better in HMBPK! and Ek Rishta!

Songs Picturization, with all LOCALES and BEAUTY QUEENS OOZING sensuality, IMHO, were not on par with DHADKAN/Ek Rishta...
Kissi se tum pyar karo, sounds same wedding song from HMBPK, only AKKI, took place of Abhishek here!
and Karisma's looks and dress was WAY BETTER(worth million) in HMBPK, than LARA and Her dress!!

Haasil :The film is a love story woven around college campus politics peppered with high drama and emotions.
Its a shame that a film like Haasil is being ignored for the most part. Hopefully, this admirable film will be discovered by people through word-of-mouth and reviews, if not through the non-existent publicity.
Good Music, Amazing performance by Irfan Khan. 7/10
Bhoot : A total disappointment.5/10 only liked Urmila in the movie. Rekha looked like a Bhoot herself. :D
Armaan: Slow but pretty good narration 5/10
Havent see any other new ones.

OK!! my final input on ARMAAN!!

FILM belongs to NONE else, than PREITY ZINTA..period..Just to watch her BRILLIANCE and see HOW GOOD ACTRESS should be..WATCH ARMAAN!!
She is MILLIONS miles ahead of her contemporaries, starting from Ash to Rani, to Poo, etc etc!

ARMAAN, has GOOD STORY LINE!, SOBER PLOT..film starts on a SOBER/SOMBER tone, and continues to be that way, till end..with no light moments, even Dr Sanjay's Witt and Preity's childish manners fail too!!

On top, Director used vERY SOMBER settings/Lightings, Most of scene are done in Mute light, kinda Moon light etc, making film appear more somber!Production values are below average, and music does not help much either..

This is FIRST AB performance that I forgot, right after he left screen(UNDER USED)

ANIL..as Mr.Bechara, ready to be sold, as ever, portrays his part, effortlessly, like Judaii, OJJ, etc!

GRACY SINGH..has done decent job, her emotional, facial expressions were good, but diologue deleivry was SUB PAR!! making it difficult to hold her candle in front of BRILLIANT PREITY ZINTA.

PREITY..author backed role..SHINES!!Another feather in her CAP, Award worthy performance, IMHO, will earn her another NOMINATION, as LEAD or NEGATIVE ROLE!

Randhir..ok

Dr sanjay's Role was lively/good, and i liked him, much better than Lara's Husband in Andaaz!

Plot, drags at time!Hospital scenes, esp, OPERATION THEATRE are too many, and dont LOOK AUTHENTIC, IMHO..

OVERALL, ARMAAN, gives u a feeling of WATCHING a SOAP, or E.R or O.R kinda drama..
Result..it will find patronage in SOBER audience, not in YUPPY, CANDY FLOSS lovers, who are responsible for making films like MKKH, MOHABTAEN, YAADEIN, AMALL< ANDAAZ and CC HITS!!For them ARMAAN is a BIG O MISS!!
