THE DRY SPELL HAS ENDED

The dry spell has ended. Its raining hits at the Indian box-office. ISHQ VISHK, ANDAAZ and now BHOOT. In a relatively short span, three films with diverse content have left a strong impact at the box-office.

While ISHQ VISHK is faring well at metros [as predicted, its best business will be in Mumbai circuit], ANDAAZ has emerged a major success all over. BHOOT may not match the success of ANDAAZ, but its opening reaffirmed the fact one can 'sniff' a good product from the promos itself.

How does one explain the success of Andaaz then? I got a whiff of that one from the promos and ran a mile from it. I guess it is some kind of acquired taste for pungent products, much like the durians of southeast Asia...

According to Box Office Collections, Andaaz has fell hard. And this is due to the release of Bhoot, and to some extent, Jajantaram Mamantaram.

But with the Rs. 9 crores recovered before the release, the Rs. 8.15 crore opening, and overseas, it's a surefire success.

Jantaar Maantar is REALLY IMPRESSIVE effort by BOLLYWOOD...DELIGHTFUL..must watch!

It is no HARRY POTTER or LORD OF THE RINGS!
