BOX OFFICE

ARMAAN

Amod Mehra

Inspite of the presence of big stars like Amitabh Bachan and Anil Kapoor, Armaan has opened to a lukewarm response all over India. It is writer Honey Irani’s directorial debut.

HAASIL

If big starcast films don’t take an opening, how can you expect a film with newcomers to get an initial? It is no surprise then that Haasil, with Jimmy Sergill and Hrishitaa Bhatt, has had a poor opening all over India.

STUMPED

Raveena Tandon’s first home production has been released with limited prints, but still the film has registered a dismal opening all over India.

ISHQ VISHK

This film targetted at the ‘Generation Next’ has been accepted by the audiences. The first-week collections were best in multiplexes and good cinemas. From the fifth day onwards though, the collections fell a bit, except in Mumbai where it is doing well.

KAISE KAHOON KE PYAR HAI

Even Sunny Deol’s special appearance could not save this film which introduces Amit Hingorani. The first week collections were extremely poor.

COMING UP

ANDAZ

Though Suneel Darshan himself has been a successful director (Janwaar), but for this film he is only the producer, and has assigned the direction to Raj Kanwar. Darshan-favourite Akshay Kumar plays the hero, and is paired with Priyanka Chopra and debutant Lara Dutta. Music by Nadeem-Shravan is already very popular.
