Shabana to act as 'Mayawati'


Shabana Azmi along with the late Smita Patil dominated the art movies for a long time. After becoming a Member of Parliament in India, she has cut down on her assignments but still found time to do a meaningful 'Godmother'. It is learnt that she will be doing two more projects; one will feature her as 'Mayawati' the firebrand chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and the other will have her portraying 'Teejan Bai' a Chattisgarh classical/folk singer of repute.

Wasn't there a news of Mayawati's objection to Shabhana acting her?? As the project is meant as Election Propaganda for Mayawati, I think, Shabhana is not in the project any more.

Mayawati doesn't want Shabana to play her.

Actress Shabana Azmi is not destined to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. At least not in reel life. Her name is no longer in the running for Harish Maheshwari's forthcoming film 'Maya Madam'.

The renowned actress has been rejected for the role by the producer of the big-budget film 'Maya Madam' after the Chief Minister showed her disapproval.
