A POWERFUL, preview of SHAKTI..the Power!!! looks ACE!

Looks ike karisma! has another WARDWORTHY performance in her KITTY! along with, BEST SUPPORTING for NANA! indeed! no doubt abt tha!

But! besides CRITIC acclaim, overseas market for this film, wont be favourable?? IMHO!! as it is, no CANDY/MUSH!

Karisma Kapoor is working her way back up, with stiff competition we say. Perhaps Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya wasn’t her best performance, but it is obvious her roles are spaced out and planned out for the impact she hopes for and this film looks no different. Shakti-The Power, Sri Devi’s production, is another parallel cinema journey which has her with a multi-star cast, and even a guest appearance by Aishwarya Rai. With the illustrious Ismail Darbar composing the music for lyrics penned by Mehboob, magic is expected. After all, their last compilation Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was nothing short of it. Aishwarya Rai will be dancing to Darbar’s tunes (again), for which Shah Rukh Khan is said to be with her in that number. Shah Rukh Khan plays a pivotal role in the film, even though he joins the film supposedly after the second half, and finally Nana Patekar is once again promised to deliver one of the best performances of his career, and their have been many. He does, however, play a negative role in this film. Shakti-the Power is undoubtedly one of this year’s most anticipated films for Karisma Kapoor fans and a drought stricken industry which is not only looking for a hit, but a really good film.

Shakti- the Power is about a mother, her dreams, and the trauma she faced when her child was taken from her. Directed by Krishna Vamshi, it is the story of a spirited woman whose child was taken away. Nandini (Karisma Kapoor), is the mother. Living with her uncles in Canada, she soon falls in love with Shekhar (Sanjay Kapoor) and they get married, and have a son, Raja. After a brief period of time, they are drawn back to India for Shekhar’s mother is sick. As they arrive in India they are faced with terror as not only is the weather dangerously hot, but their bus is attacked by a mob of dangerous men. After several horrible incidents they finally make it to Shekhar’s home where they meet his father, Narasimha (Nana Patekar), and mother Deepti Naval.

It is Narasimha whom Nandini can not understand, for his ways of living are extremely different. He is the one who lives by the sword, in a violent environment. That is the way he has been raised, but now he vows to have Raja grow up as such. Obviously, Nandini does not want this. Nandini’s nightmare is brought to life when her son is put at risk, and Narasimha is involved in it. Narasimha takes Raja away and will not let Nandini get to him. The situation changes completely now for the once calm and peaceful Nandini. She is tortured in the name of her son and no one is there to help her. Now Nandini must fight back, and use her “shakti- the inner force”. Will she win the battle? Will anyone help her? Find out this fall.
;) :baaa: :xmas:
