How well do you know the Film Certificate? Here is a video explaining all the parts of an Film Certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) or more commonly known as the Censor Board.

Thanks Ragz.

Original link to the video is:

Playing zulm video does not give you an option to go full screen, while the youtube video can be seen in full screen, for reading small letters.

Lets hope these video links don't go obsolete with time. :(

What is inexplicable is how the certification for each film is chosen!

On an unrelated account, here's a rare version of Jadugar Saiyan from Nagin with an extra line in the mukhda "Pheeka Pheeka Kajra, Toota Hua Gajra, Kehdega Saari Baat". This probably suggests rejection from the censor board as the line sounds too bold for its times

Lines "Pheeka Pheeka Kajra, Toota Hua Gajra, Kehdega Saari Baat" was definitely in the film when I saw it in theatre in the mid 60s.
I don't think it was censored, perhaps it's just lost with time. This line repeats at least 3 times and the Ultra video clip shows clear discontinuity with these lines cut.

As far as listening this song on Radio, in the 50s & 60s, this line was definitely there. This was one of the popular songs (actually all Nagin songs were, but this one and "Man Dole" in particular were very popular) and hence played on Radio thousands of time as well as on PA systems in Wedding receptions.

BTW, has anyone seen Nagin DVD in color ?? (I think, it's released by Ultra) How is the quality ??

The existing prints of Nagin all seem to have a dead condition. Thus, the transfers that exist are poor and incomplete. As explained by Rana, the cuts in the prints might have lead to the omission of a few lines from a song. I realized something similar might have happened with the song called "Teri Yaad Mein Jal Kar" from the climatic dream sequence of the film

The film version features a very miniature run of the song, sans the antara that goes "Deepak Ki Chamak Mein Aag Bhi Hai..."

The vinyl version of this song, even the CD versions have the piece intact.

There's a weird cut in the film version, where this piece should have belonged. Rana, can you confirm if you recall this portion was part of the film in first place?
