Fast and Furious 7 On Course To Be Highest Grossing Hollywood Film In India
4 April 2015

Fast & Furious 7 has is on course to be the highest grossing Hollywood film in India as collections continues to stay at a high level despite a slight drop on day two which can be expected due to the huge first day. The film is certain to beat Baby which is the highest grossing Hindi film of 2015 at 82 crore nett and may even have a shot at the 100 crore nett mark.

The film grossed 12 crore nett approx on day one and day two was around 11-11.50 crore nett which means the film should get to at least 45 crore nett (all languages) for the weekend. The first two days being holidays have helped.

Fast & Furious 7 will easily beat the business of 2012 released in 2009 which has held the record for being the highest grossing Hollywood film for almost six years now despite initial business for Hollywood films growing a lot in these years.

Fast And Furious 7 Breaks All Records By Huge Margins For A Hollywood Release In India
6 April 2015

Fast & Furious 7 shattered every initial box office record for Hollywood releases in India. It is basically what Dhoom 3 did as far as Hindi films are concerned. The film has collected a huge 48 crore nett over the four day weekend in all languages.

The previous records for Hollywood releases were 7.48 crore nett on day one by The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014), Fast & Furious 7 went to 12 crore nett. The three day record was The Amazing Spiderman (2012) at 24.69 crore nett and Fast & Furious 7 went to 35 crore nett

The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014) also had an extended four day weekend last year and grossed 30.37 crore nett and now Fast & Furious 7 has gone to 48 crore nett. The margin of all records is huge. The film is already the eighth highest grossing Hollywood release in India and the only films above it are the 50 crore nett plus grossers which is a benchmark for Hollywood films. Another record that is has surpassed is the lifetime business of Fast & Furious 6 in just four days, that film had grossed 43 crore nett approx in 2013.

Fast And Furious 7 Is Fifth Hollywood All Time Blockbuster In India
08 April 2015

Fast & Furious 7 has become the fifth All Time Blockbuster in India from Hollywood. the film is on course for a first week total of 67-68 crore nett which would make it the highest grosser ever in India from hollywood.

The first All Time Blockbuster from Hollywood was Jurassic Park released in 1994. It was released on 125 screens across India in English and Hindi and grossed around 6.75 crore nett. It was the first film from Hollywood to see such a wide release.Twenty One years later Fast & Furious 7 has come on 2000 screens

The next All Time Blockbuster was Titanic in 1998 which was released on just 7 screens on release and was not dubbed but still emerged the second highest grosser of that year after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Then in 2007 came Spiderman 3 followed by 2012 in 2009 which became the first Hollywood film to cross the 50 crore nett benchmark. The 100 crore nett benchmark is a possibility for Fast & Furious 7 though barring 2012 the big Hollywood openers don'thave legs whereas the likes of Life Of Pi, Gravity and Inception continue to go on forever. Still 30 odd crore needed after week one is not a big ask.

Fast And Furious 7 Is Biggest Hollywood Grosser In India Ever In Eight Days
9 April 2015

'Fast & Furious 7' has become the highest grossing Hollywood film in India with the extended eight day first week business of 69 crore nett. It has beaten the long standing lifetime record of '2012' which was released in 2009 and was the previous record holder in just eight days. The film is looking on course for the first 100 crore nett grosser from Hollywood. It will need to surpass the 20 crore nett mark in week two then it should reach the 100 crore nett mark.

The fact that 'The Amazing Spiderman 2' grossed 42 crore nett last year in its eight day first week tells how huge the record is.

The business was spectacular all over as it is the first film to put up huge numbers in dubbed versions since 2012. The releases after 2012 have done well mainly due to the English versions. 'Fast & Furious 7' has recorded numbers like big budget Hindi masala films 'Action Jackson' and 'Entertainment' in places like Rajasthan and CI and its these circuits where Hollywood releases have not done well in past barring a few exceptions.
