More exciting than anything on the big screen right now, and worth discussing is Bachchan/Kashyap collaborated television drama Yudh. Every episode is invigorating.

Felt like never ending movie, after watching 8 episodes in first 2 weeks. Still better than Saas/Bahu crap.

It's a disservice to Yudh, that it has to be compared to the standard run-of-the-mil Indian television programming. This short drama series is in a whole new level in itself. If more programs like this were to follow, could provide sufficent competition for big screen entertainment.

Surprised to hear this - missed the first few episodes, so waiting to watch the whole series on Youtube (available in HD on the SET Asia channel) - but I've heard negative things about this so far (and this isn't coming from saas bahu fans). Will still catch it at some point!

In my books, every episode plays like a great, wrenchingly intense mystery. Bachchan is working at his late career dramatic peak here. As creative director of this series, Kashyap has displayed his filmi treats, but with a toned down subtilty given the limited do's and don'ts of the television medium. Havin said that, this "subtilty" works more in Kashyaps favour, as the series, while full of multi-layered stories, appears more genuine than a mere work of fiction.
