Akshay Kumar prancing around like he is still in his 20s? No thanks.

'HOLIDAY - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' Holds Very Strongly On Tuesday
11 June 2014

Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty held up very strongly on Tuesday which is was the key day and now the film is set for a good run. There was a limited drop on Tuesday with collections in the 7-7.25 crore nett region. It is the highest Tuesday of the year along with Jai Ho which was in the same range

The film has so far grossed around 53.75 crore nett and should hit 65 crore nett for the week. The film is holding up very well all over and business in some circuits is likely to be the best ever for an Akshay Kumar starrer.

Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty has found appreciation all over with the only problem for the film being that heavy price tag which is playing spoilsport as the Worldwide distributors paid quite a premium for the film a bit like Jai Ho.

Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty Has Good First Week
13 June 2014

Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty did well in its first as it grossed around 65.75 crore nett. The weekend was not quite up to the mark due to the opening being lacklustre but the film trended very well in the weekdays to come out with a good first week.

The second week should hold well and should be the highest second week of the year beating the figures of 2 States and Jai Ho which were 25 crore nett approx and 21.50 crore nett approx respectively.

The third week should see the film cross 100 crore nett which is not really a big deal today for big star films like Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty but as it did not open too well then the 100 crore mark becomes a bigger achievement than it would otherwise. In one or two circuits the film may well go on and be the highest Akshay Kumar grossing film ever. Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty has done good or at least decent business in all circuits across India in its first week.

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Holiday’ crosses Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office
23 June 2014

Akshay Kumar finally has a hit after a long time: ‘Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty’ has landed in the esteemed 100 crores club after the second week of its release.

The actor’s last film to achieve this mark was Rowdy Rathore way back in 2012, which coincidentally also starred Sonakshi Sinha. Maybe it is just luck or maybe the crowd love seeing the two together but pairing up with Sonakshi is sure proving to be a good sign for the Khiladi of Bollywood.

Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty is the third film in 2014 to cross the 100 crores barrier. The first film to do so was Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, which in terms of a Salman Khan movie got quite a lukewarm response. Salman’s Eid release, Kick is hoping to break Dhoom: 3’s record of Rs. 533 crores worldwide to become the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time, unadjusted for inflation. The second film in 2014 to cross the 100 crore mark was Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 2 states, based on a novel of the same name written by Chetan Bhagat. Although it did cross the line, it hardly got any further.
