Raanjhanaa Is A HIT
27 June 2013

Raanjhanaa has emerged a hit despite a big budget for a non face value cast. The film had a very strong trend on the weekdays as it collected around 34 crore nett plus in week one.

The film has collections similar to Aashiqui 2 which was helped by a holiday on Wednesday. Aashiqui 2 had a fantastic run from week two to week five and would very hard for Raanjhanaa to have a similar run but it still should put a very good lifetime number.

The trend on the first week has ensured the film will emerge a hit and now it remains to be seen if it can go higher.

Music is growing on me despite huge Southern hang over though. But well, do we have a better choice?

Sonam Kapoor's an awful, awful actress and destroys this film. She's very lifeless even though there
are degrees in hell and she may not be as good imitating a piece of wood anymore as she was in her
filmdisaster SLB debut. The nasty Kapoors, Anil and Sonam, yuck.

Kundan Shankar is full of life though and deserves a better actress at his side. But he's much too
old to play a teenager, he may be 30 but looks even older and the whole intro felt a bit embarrassing.
Otherwise he was great and the soundtrack was nice.
Yeah, speaking of looking old .... Abhay Deol playing a student !? Terrible. He's 37 but looks like
a swollen middle-age man. Poor, no ridiculous casting indeed
