Players (2012): It's time to steady yourselves for the biggest action extravaganza that Bollywood has to offer! The dynamic director duo Abbas-Mustan are back to enthrall the audiences one again with the lean and mean heist flick 'Players'. The movie is the official remake of the 2003 Hollywood blockbuster, 'The Italian Job' and promises to be just as much of a thrilling ride!
With a stellar cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sikander Kher and Omi Vaidya, this remake promises to pack one heck of a punch. Players is scheduled to set the screen ablaze in January, 2012.
With high speed chase sequences and state-of-the-art special effects set against the backdrop of gorgeous locales in New Zealand and Goa, Players will redefine Bollywood action movies as we know them.
And hang on to your seats, because this ride has just begun.
I saw this too. I was surprised at just how bad the performances were (when Bobby Deol gives one of the best performances in the film, you know something is horribly wrong). The 'twists' were predicable, and as Rana mentioned, the film is way too long. Not worth the money or time.
DVD by VIACOM-18 is Progressive & anamorphic. (still not as good as old DEI/ BEI ones as is the case with 99.99% of current, Hindi Progressive DVDs).
DVD run time is 163.3 min (Film CC shows 4597 meters i.e. 168 min, and the film screening that I saw was aprox 165 min)

At the time of its theatrical release, kids did not go to see it in the theatre as they did not expect much from the film, and it was school exams time. But, now when they saw it on home video, they really liked it and regretted that they did not go to see it in theatre. They had seen Italian Job and say that Players is somewhat different for the better (and of course, song & dance #s in Hindi version is a bonus, too). They liked Nitin Mukesh's performance & style, the best.
