Saw 3D version of this film today.

Paisa Vasool Film.

It has segments similar to T-2, Spiderman (Sandman), MI, etc plus Bollywood style and songs and dance. Even if it has segments similar to the above said Hollywood films, don't we see those films again and again; and enjoy them. So, I'd recommend watching this Bollywood attempt. Plus it's 3D.

Being a special effect film, sound sure was aggressive surround and aggressive bass.

Don't try to make sense of how is it possible. Just like time travel back and forth is just a hypothesis, computer created program becoming real is also equally absurd hypothesis. But, we have to accept it, to enjoy the film. Plus, it's mainly for the younger gen. Consider it a 3D Film Game.

------------------
Bollywood needs to catch up with Hollywood in 3D technology. 3D effects were mainly into the screen (like drama stage) and not coming out of the screen right in front of you at touching distance as seen in Hollywood 3D films.

I saw it in 3 D in Austria.

As written 3 D was mostly calculated and not shot so not really good 3D.
The story itself is like for teenagers then for adults.
Best parts were from Arjun Rampal as Ra One and Tom Wu as Akashi and nice special appearance by Sanjay Dutt.

wife and i loved it -- we too saw the 3-D version. Here, at PVR Priya Cinema New Delhi, the 3-D was way better than what we experienced for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. I guess 3-D experience depends on how the movie was shot, plus the cinema hall it is screened in, plus the kind of glasses... right?

Well, I thought the film was Paisa Vasool so kids & family went to see it too. Teenagers that are into PS 3, X-Box etc gaming, really really liked it and may want a console game when it comes out. This film became their most fav Bollywood flick so far, ahead of Om Shanti Om. But remember, teenagers is where the money is and the movie sure is targeted at teenagers and younger kids.

Newdeep: Theatre was as good as it gets. 3D was fine but all 3D was behind the screen, like drama stage. You could not touch the characters, like in Avatar and other recent Hollywood 3Ds.
Yes, EROS logo (and starting titles) sure was ahead of the screen, at touching distance.

I think, 3D was an afterthought. As Banditqueen said, perhaps these were calculated 3D effects. I don't know if it's possible to have calculated 3D images come out of the screen ??

3-D is something we should study and discuss deeply, the same way as our passionate deep discussions on zulm for DVDs over the years :-)

Knowing from what I've read so far about this film, SRK is practicing the business theory, that "to make money, you have to spend money". Good job for him. Economically, this will lead to a downfall in the long run since it'll begin a trend that will ultimately saturate the market. Unfortunately for SRK capitalist vision, I personally refuse to invest a single penny of mine into his white elephant. Plus, this is simply not "art" at any level of the discussion. I'm more attracted to Aamir Khan's approach towards the business of cinema, "creating something out of nothing".

Saw it in 3D overall good vfx good songs, comedy, story very weak SRK/KAREENA ok ARJUN had more of a less role he's hardly there the jackie chan character had more screen time !!!

As for the 3D crap better in 2D i would say...for me if a movie isn't shot in 3D when concived stay well away 9 out of 10 times conversion's jobs for 3D are rubbish and I think DON 2 in 3D will also suffer the same fate as it's also a conversion job !!!

I agree. Aamir makes low-budget movies so he doesn't HAVE to slap the film's characters on every conceivable product to make money. Plus, he produces way more interesting films. Aamir gives us Taare Zameen Par and Delhi Belly. SRK gives us Ra.One and Always Kabhi Kabhi

That said, I didn't hate Ra.One. Even with all its holes (and the awful first half), on a check-your-brain-at-the-door level it is entertaining, and it is more for kids than for adults.

Aamir Khan utilizes his brand(essentially his name) to a far better use. His start up cost is next to nil(it is "nil", considering the budget of the average hindi film now a days), he sells his films at a low cost, with the ultimate help of his name attached to all his films(an established brand as it is), almost all his films turn up a profit for everyone involved. Economically, this is a viable exercise. Additionally, leaving aside the business aspects of Aamir Khan's films, as you've already mentioned, Aamir's films are far more intriguing than anything SRK is producing.
