Ups
1994, A huge turning point in Govinda's career. Govinda had stopped the whole supporting roles, and click as a hero. Swarg and Coolie No.1 were among his best performances, but above them two, has to be Khuddar. Khuddar is a story of one man's self respect and how people begin to take advantage of it, A man who stood up for what he felt is right, people in their world see it as wrong. The film indeed has one of the best stories I have come across and has such a wonderful peformance by Govinda,Govinda plays a real serious role in this one. The supporting cast to are wonderful. We see once again some wonderful chemistry between Govinda and Karishma. The songs are very attractive, each songs comes in such a great time and each song has it elementof entertainment. This has to be one of the best of Govinda, its a must watch for everyone, and have to watch this film atleast onceeven if you like Govinda or not.

Downs
The film does lack in a huge department, the direction. The story may be a brillant factor but maintaining the story and keeping itat a level does get hard. The case here with Khuddar is that it has a wonderful story but the director just doesnt know how to exactly show it, this mainly happens when the producer feels they dont need to spend a lot on the film. The locations are terrible, except for the song locations, the rest of them are not really appealing.

Scenes
- Govinda's Intro
- Kapali Gets Killed
- Govinda's Brother The Criminal
- Govinda Speech Infront Of The Communtiy People Of Kapali
- Karishma Becomes A Family Member
- Conflict Between Govinda - Shakti Kapoor
- Govinda Beats Shakti With His Shoe
- The Brother-In-Law Confussion
- Climax

Peformances
Khuddar is Govinda. From his first scene (which is probarly one of the best introductions I have seen), he makes it very clear how brillantly he is going to perform. Govinda is ace in comedy, but in Khuddar he makes it very clear that not just in comedy, even as serious actor he is ace. This performance has to be one of the best performances come out of India, truley the role of Siddarth Suriis incomplete without Govinda, Wonderful!! Karishma Kapoor is good in this one too, the scene when she explains to Govinda why shedances in bars, it extremely wonderful, she succeedds. Shakti Kapoor, in the first half as a corrupt officer and the second as a corruptminister, he is brillant. The scene when he warns Govinda he will make his dog, leaves you amazed. Shreeram Lagoo is first-rate.

Mahesh Anand doesnt have much to do as the villian, there are very few dialouges for him but he carries the look of the villain perfectly.Kader Khan is wonderful once again as the comedian, he brightens the mood of the film. Raju Shrestha does okay as Govinda's brother.

Music
Anu Malik once again puts a smile on our faces!!! 'Tum Mano Ya Na Mano', believe it or not, its a brillant song and comes as the firstromantic track, it breaks away from the serious mood. The best two tracks in the film are 'Woh Aankh Hi Kya', which brings back goodold childhood memerios and indeed one of Kumar Sanu's best. 'Tumsa Koi Pyaara', again another brillant track from Kumar Sanu and with some extraordinary lyrics. The songs are something to look out for in this film!!!

Direction
Iqbal Durrani may have not made many films later, but indeed this has to be his best. He has some brillant ideas to show on-screen.The best thing about Khuddar has to be the performance of Govinda, and the person to thank him for that is Iqbal Durrani. The film indeed is a good time-pass but there things you can take in personally. The film is inspiring the way Govinda shows his self-respect and doesnt in such a brillant manner. Overall, its a wonderful watch, something to be amazed from the performance of Govinda and the story itself is indeed brillant.

I rented the GVI DVD of Khuddar from Lovefilm, screenshots given below. Pity, because I really wanted to watch this film.
