Did any one see newly released Punjabi Heer Ranjha (Harbhajan Mann) yet ??

It's a nice film. I haven't seen earlier Heer Ranjha films nor have I ever read it's story, but knew that it's a legendary tragic love story. Film presentation is good and keeps the viewers interest throughout. Songs are usual Harbhajan Mann style Punjabi songs (good) along with a few "Heer" here & there. My wife says, the story presentation is little different and is more realistic & logical. It's almost happy ending. LOL.

End credits showed "Dolby Digital EX", implying there must have been aggressive surround if theatre is equipped. I saw it at AMC and hence it was just front channels only.

Normally, Punjabi folks see Harbhajan Mann's (& Babbu Mann, Gurdas Mann & other Punjabi films) films, as a religious tradition. I expected at least 30-40 viewers on a reduced price Tuesday, but I was surprised to see just two of us.

I wonder if all Heer Ranjha versions are like this, but it's ending sure can justify a mystery thriller sequel or a comedy, "Who killed Heer Ranjha showing how the killer is caught".

Defo agree with Arsh - you should watch the Indian and also the Pakistani version.

Songs from the Pakistani Heer Ranjha were also great sung by Noor Jehan and composed by the Maestro Khurshid Anwar

Movie was good aside from the larger than life Heer (Firdous) and the even bigger Ranjha (Ijaz). But the Punjabi dialogues of the Pakistani version are really well written.

I concur again! but it might be hard for rana to find a good print of that.
