Newdeep, do you work for a film distribution company or something?!?! A lot of your posts are like this one, a sort of 'Coming Soon' advert for the films!

one day i plan to ;-)

Currently, I just keenly (and passionately) follow developments in home entertainment; regularly talking to dvd shop owners, "deep-searching" the net for relevant "breaking news", writing to film and dvd distributers, watchful of any "out of the ordinary" promotional material (posters, jingles), etc :)

Sangeeth Sivan's earlier tryst with horror, SANDHYA, never saw light of the day...

This film is a remake of the english horror flick Shutter....IT was originally copied from japan. I can clearly make it out from the trailer itself..

I don't understand when will the Indian directors make something good on their own...DUMB arses only know to copy stuff which is successful abroad. Except for RGV, no director in India seems to come up with good horror flicks on their own....Pritish nandy dumb idiot must be sued for copying the script.

The director duo behind the great Thailand horrorflick Shutter were inspired by J-horror Ringu but gave it a
decidedly thai spirit/ghost movie twist. Wongpoom & Pisanthnakun's Alone were quite good too

I've only seen one decent hindi horror yet, Vikram Bhatt's 1920, that was somewhat remotely disturbing. That
actress Adah Sharma really gave a 100% and her makeup (eyes) were effective and scary.
I've seen some old Ramsay Brothers type 80's stuff, trashily fun but not scary. I've seen some RGV's (Raat, no
Phoonk, no no and Bhoot, almost scary but no)and the fact that Bhaskar thinks Click's funny not a good omen either.

So, if anyone know about an actually scary hindi (or other indian) horror flick, please recommend/name it

Good Hindi horror?!?! Seriously?!???!

I saw 1920 as well, and was bored in all honesty, so maybe I'm not the best benchmark for Hindi horror. I agree with you about the Ramsay films, fun, but not scary. I quite liked Raat when it released - but this was at the time of the Ramsay films.

The only film I can recall being mildly scary was a fairly old film called Gehrayee, which had Anant Nag, Padmini Kolhapure (as a child artist) and Amrish Puri in it - but I haven't seen this recently so don't know how well it has aged.

If you're after a really scary film, I'd recommend Chandni Chowk To China or Kambakkht Ishq.

Many thanks bhaskar, nice, i will go get the 1980 Gehrayee pronto, i think Shemaroo has it. Seems to be a classic
You're hard on Akshay Kumar. I've only seen him in trashy 8x10 tasveer and Aitraaz (both quite enjoyable)

@HumAapkeHainKoun

dont know about scary but here's some fun, decent watchable films:

VEERANA 1988 (Ramsays) fun, cheesy, creepy in parts
PURANA MANDIR 1984 (Ramsays) pure fun and cheesy
BANDH DARWAZA 1990 (Ramsays) crispy stuff from ramsays with less cheese, fairly creepy
VAASTU SHASTRA 2004 (Ram Gopal Varma) slow but eerie stuff
FEAR 2007 (Vikram Bhatt) slow but decent
RAAZ 2002 (Vikram Bhatt) great stuff even though its a rip-off of What Lies Beneath
