Hmm! Go listen to music soundtrack first! It is REMIXED, TAAL, and other ghaii /Rehman etc work, with Sukhwinder flavor! Sukhwinder is much more capable if used right, but when you give a composer to recreate some thing previously done then options are limited.

BTW Ghaii school of cinema is out of fashion btw :)

Composer:

* 2000s
* 1990s

1. Hadbahedi (2008)
2. Bombay to Bangkok (2008)
3. Kaafila (2007)
4. Sandwich (2006)
5. Iqbal (2005)
6. Amar Joshi Shahid Ho Gaya (2005)
7. Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav (2005)
8. Classic Dance of Love (2005)
9. Struggler (2005)
10. The Perfect Husband (2003)

*** Some of his composed albums are missing here but the BEST imho, must hear is :ASTITVA( btw excellent film, Tabu par excellence, very good dvd by DEI)

Black & White heads for disaster
Last week's release, Black & White is heading towards becoming a major disaster. Having started poorly, the film has dropped further and has even discontinued after a three-day run at some centres.

Meanwhile, Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar has been labelled average, thanks to its excellent run overseas and satellite rights.

Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates. The thumbs ups and downs reflect rediff's views.

Black & White

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Anurag Sinha, Aditi Sharma.
Director: Subhash Ghai.
Good intent, fine performances, restrained effort.

Awkward romantic track, some overdone cliches.

Number of weeks: New.
BO Verdict: Heading for disaster.

Review

GHAII ka DIL aur DIN DOOBA!

odhaa Akbar

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Poonam Sinha, Ila Arun, Nikitin Dheer, Sonu Sood.
Director: Ashutosh Gowariker.
Hrithik's terrific performance, awesome music.

Much too long, Gowariker tries to tackle too many aspects of Akbar's life and does not do justice to any.

Number of weeks: 2.
BO Verdict: Average.

Can't understand how can this film be rejected by audiences.
I started watching this film on DVD and so far have seen first half an hour and I had to go back again and again. It's so engrossing and interesting.

1) Tax free status, implies entertainment tax for theatrical viewing only, is for limited period only.

For DVDs, I wonder if any one pays any tax at all. Not even Income Tax or Sales Tax ?? LOL

After watching the full film, must say it's an excellent film and very gripping (kept on getting tighter) plot. Only thing I wish was if they had done away with preaching and reforming, in the end.

watching it rana! so far so good! New guy is good! Sukhwinder music gels wel with mood of film.

Imho, Anil even being in author backed role does not quite make home and gets into skin of the role, that needed some one with more polished lingo, a bit more mature attitude!

While Shefali looks pretty good to me.

Ok! i think, film bombed because of thematics, being too much repeatetive!

But still, I think, Anil should have been replaced by any sober , mature actor who could match old professor's caliber. Who was the best thing in the film.

Indeed! becomes too preachy, post towards the end. Anil handles him self good but his body language is not optimum, through out. But when you cant see beyond your nose, then only choice you see is Anil, AB and Saroo, aamir, While imho, Nana Patekar was the man this role needed!
