So Company did not copy any film! I would say it took some ideas from Scarface, but is not a copy. There's nothing wrong with taking ideas, but it's wrong when they copy. If you can say Company copied Scarface, you might as well say Satya also copied Scarface because both films are about young men who come to a new city/country and get involved with gangsters, starting off at the low and end moving up the ranks only to go down in a hail of bullets in the end, leaving their woman behind.
Company is more similar to the storyline of Goodfellas, as both films show how an outsider gets involved in the underworld, becomes a part of it, loving every second of the gangster life until falling out and having to co-operate with the police in order to save his own ass. Think about the similarites. I found it laughable that Ram Gopal Varma claimed to have never seen any Scorsese film in his life, when a western critic compared his films to Scorsese. And he's supposed to be a cinephile-turned-director? RGV really has no shame!
Agneepath clearly copied more of Scarface as Aatank Hi Aatank is a direct copy of The Godfather. The only scene Sarkar copied from the Godfather was the hospital scene. Through you can see many examples from the Godfather that RGV "changed around" for Sarkar.

As for the person who posted Khalid Mohammed 's review of Aag, Khalid Mohammed should shut his mouth on critising any film after he made the ridiculous error of having an adult Hrithik play a 10-year old in the beginning of Fiza as well as Karisma playing his 13-year old sister.
Film critics don't always make good directors. That may have worked in France in the 60's, but can you imagine if Taran Adarsh started making films?

As for Aag, everyone is dissing it, even his fans. There's not one person I've come across who even thought it was OK.

Copyright/ illegal, so what ?? As I said earlier, it's at poster's risk or zulm.net risk. And, if the original source doesn't mind, why should you or I worry ??

regardless still need to worry copyright is the law and there are penalties for violating it. Nuff said don’t wanna go off topic from discussion about the ‘Mistake’ Aag. (lol)

There are flawless adaptations like "Namak Haram" of Becket --and-- "Omkara" of "Othello" and then there are good and bad copies -- and then there are insanities such as AAG ;-)

I wonder if this film would even be released on DVD? Not that I or anyone I know would be buying it. I think it may be one of those films that people in the future may wish to see (to see how bad it was) but since it won't be available, it may attain a "status". You can imagine future generations wanting to see it as it's a "Ram Gopal Verma" version of Sholay.

It's like with Exorcist 2 there were people who wanted to see it, but at one time it was very hard to get hold of a video of it, so it became almost a "sought-after" item, despite being so bad.

I think even RGV's Shiva has not been released on DVD or internationally and there are people who want to see it.

Unlike AAG, Exorcist 2 is a movie you'll find quite a few people telling you they like it -- I am one such person ;-)

RGV's Shiva (both old and new) are available on DVD. The new one is on T-Series in India -- and again, the new Shiva too has its fans -- unlike AAG which doesn't seem to have a single fan!!

Well, tally one who thinks Aag is a few miles above The Exorcist 2.

Please allow me to put your tally on hold till you answer the following question -- i believe you may have gone off a tangent ;-)

I am a fan of Exorcist 2 -- are you a fan of AAG?

A fan of Aag? No. Do I hate it? Nah. I do sort of hate The Exorcist 2.

Exactly my point in the first place -- AAG does not seem to have a single fan ;-) --- unlike other movies which have fans as well as haters... so back to square one.

Before the release of his much awaited and talked about film RGV Ki Aag , Mr. Varma definitely must have had ‘Butter- flies’ in his stomach. Moreover, since it was not just any usual copy or remake heard of but was a remake of the legendary film, Sholay . Well the film did release and as expected ( especially by Ramesh Sippy) Varma did get his share of flaks pelted at him, but what was really unexpected was that people who usually butter him up too melted away. So when we have the famous and popular ‘Butter ad’ take a dig at him saying, “Ab tera Kya hoga Ramu” one cannot help but be the mean Gabbar Singh to him.

What exactly did you like about Exorcist 2? I remember wanting to see it (before it was widely available) and upon seeing it feeling disappointed. I remember it being either cheesy or like a spoof (like Aag). It wasn;t scary but neither was the first one. But one thing I can say is that it was better that the 2 Exorcist prequels that were made a few years back!

As for Aag, I've now come across one person who liked it...but he's 10 years old so that explains it. Apparently the pirates are doing the rounds.

Never seen Exorcist 2, but the original Exorcist is only movie I've gone to watch at the cinema and fallen asleep during it. Yes, it's that captivating.
