Go watch it for some snazzy dialogues, SAK's great performance and hindi cinema finally showing a lead couple in bed alluding to pre-marital conjugation AND the heroine NOT FEELING too terrible about it. Baby steps now, we might finally be growing up !!!

Saif Ali Khan was hilariously droll, charming in that distinctly flirt sort of way, despite his oddball mannerisms, he was soo much fun to watch every minute he's on screen.

I saw it this afternoon and I liked it, mostly due to Saif's and Rani's performances, but also the screenplay itself was good. I got a little irritated towards the end with the obligatory revelation that keeps the two of them apart a little longer, and the ending was not all that interesting, but overall the film was funny and the characters were well drawn. It was annoying whenever the bhangra music would come on in the scenes with Kiron Kher. We get it already :D

I finally saw this movie last night, and its not bad at all, imo. I expected it to be crap like most other yrf romantic shits, but this is not bad. Its actually romantic, and less nonsense. I mostly enjoyed the movie towards the end. first half was too light, but still not bad. performance wise, kiron kher was the best, imo. saif and rani were also good. but, I didn't like isha koppikar that much. she kind of annoyed me in a couple scenes. music was ok, i liked the title song, and "ladki kyon", but i didn't like that rishi rich song. but, overall this is much better than kohli's last movie MDK, imo.

Well, I finally saw "Hum Tum" last night and I have to say that Kunal Kohli has improved big time after "Mujshe Dosti Karoge" - one of the worst films of 2002. "Hum Tum", though not a masterpiece by an means, still stands as the most entertaining film this year. "Hum Tum" primarily works because of three things. Superb performances, wonderful camerawork and a director who's sure of his craft in Kunal Kohli.

The story, as practically everyone here knows by now, is another boy-meets-girl love story but is unique in the sense that this story spans over a period of nine years. Nothing novel or groundbreaking is explored here folks but there is something unabashedely refreshing in this film. I can't quite pinpoint on what it is. Perhaps it's the first-time pairing of Saif and Rani - who by the way share a wonderful rapport with each other. Perhaps, it's the effective performances all around. Kohli should be given a pat on the back for casting the actors he casted. Whatever the reason, "Hum Tum" succeeds simply because it never takes itself too seriously. Kohli knew he was making a small, sweet and subtle film and he never goes overboard with any aspect. The minor quips I have with this film is the animated sequences which should have reflected so much of Karan (Saif) and Rhea's (Rani) progressing love story but instead, I felt they were used for filler material. The jokes in those animated sequences were also a little outdated. Also, Kohli never really goes in depth with Saif's career as a cartoonist. I would have liked him to explore some of that material and how it affected Karan's life - personallu and professionally. Other than that, "Hum Tum" is a fine film and much more engrossing and affecting than the likes of "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (horrendously overrated), "Chalte Chalte", K3G, and other such films of the same nature.

What can I say about Saif Ali Khan that hasn't been said already? Barring the single scene where he's drunk (a little bit of overacting here), Saif Ali Khan gives another brilliant performance as the philandering Karan Kapoor. This has been a great year for Saif. With his career-best performance in "Ek Hasina Thi" and his splendid act now in "Hum Tum", Saif has emerged as one of the brightest actors of 2004. He was dwelling as a bottom feeder in Bollywood for so long. Saif never impressed with me with any of his past films - that is until "Dil Chahta Hai" came about. Since then, there has been no stopping this man. It's like he woke up one fine day and...BANG...becomes one of Bollywood's best actors working today. Rani Mukherjee matches Saif step for step and also delivers a heartwarming performance as the lovable Rhea. With her wonderful performance in "Yuva" and now her notable act in "Hum Tum", Rani Mukherjee has also had a great year. The supporting performances ranging from Abhishek Bachchan to Rishi Kapoor to Jimmy Shergill give noteworthy performances. Isha Kopikkar, however, is the weakest link of this film and gives a new definition to the term "bad actress". Thankfully, she's only there for 2 minutes. Jatin-Lalit is fine but you feel like their heyday is long gone. BGM by Salim-Sulaiman is solid. The cinematography by Sunil Patel is captivating simply because it's real and, of course, the direction by Kohli is much better the second time around. All in all, "Hum Tum" is one of the better films of 2004.

Kamran? What are you talking about? I just came to this forum because it was recommended to me from another forum. No multiple ID's here my man. I wouldn't sink that low. I just thought I'd post my views on this film. If you have a problem with it theon, too bad.
