So the reviewers didn't like Andaaz and you did - get over it. Everyone has their own opinion about movies

Why? especially when everyone including you cant seem to ignore Taran Adarsh?

I agree with the rest of your post. I dont think Rana was claiming it to be a great film - just pointing out that reviewers these days seem to be very harsh. You could convery the same meaning without using eye catching adjectives

Thanks for coming to the rescue Jag. LOL.

Reviewers can be as harsh as they want to be and can review on quality, etc. But, to predict whether a movie will be liked by the target audience or not, they don't seem to get it right.

Andaaz is not a great film. Nor is candy. We all know vitamins are good for us but not candy. Still, candy is popular. Andaaz is an eye candy film and is pleasant to ears. Music pleasant to ears, and even the music has been trashed by the reviewers.

All the bad reviews were written before the reviewers could see the audience reaction. With the success of the film, you will see how the reviews change now.

guys any news on the dvd release of Andaaz?

2 version one good and bad is already in the market

good pirated version has been released by one of their distributor

Could you please give indicators of the better of the two pirated versions.

Official DVD coming from TIPS, most likely, will be much worst than this 'good pirate'.

Thanks.

I saw the movie in the Cinema here in Northern California, it was an ok movie with very good songs. I mean the movie wasn't as bad as some suggest. The two new actrecess were very good. I tought, that P. Chupra was very good in dancing. I hope they give these newcomers more rules. I'm sick and tired of the stars doughters and sons. Esha Doel has to one the ugliest indian actrecess of all time if u can call her an actress.

For the first time in the history of beauty queens' pilgrimage to celluloid, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra - former Miss Universe and Miss World respectively - have made their simultaneous and successful debut in the same film.

Raj Kanwar's Andaaz will be recorded in the history of Indian cinema as the film that simultaneously launched the two ramp walkers with an equal measure of success.

The audience seems to have taken to both the beauties.

"This is unprecedented," said Andaaz producer Suneel Darshan. "We've never had two beauty queens make such a high-profile impact, that too in the same film. The response to Lara and Priyanka is overwhelming."

ANDAAZ Hit or a Flop??

I beg to differ that Indian reviewers a harsh enough at all. If they were less forgiving like most Hollywood reviewers are, people like Raj Kanwar would be safely stuck in a 'B' movie circle as far as critics and serious movie fans are concerned. Big name stars may then feel less obliged to work for him. But Raj Kanwar makes so-called 'A' grade movies in India. Most Indian movie-goers are either blind to the lack of quality control in Indian films or choose to ignore it. Andaaz is just another new example of this. Who cares if there is abolutely no logic in the script. In any case, I firmly believe that Raj Kanwar can never redeem himself after putting me through inexcusable trash like Judaai, HDJPK, Jaan, Jeet and Laadla, etc.

Aryan, Hollywood has these types of filmmakers too. Michael Bay is a prime example. His crappy films are trashed by the critics, yet they make a ton of money so big stars act in them.

Now its a proven fact that Andaaz is a super hit movie. the best of Raj Kanwar and best money grosser for Suneel Darshan too. It has every thing , which the Audience ask in a movie(forget about vulgarity or glamour). Andaaz has also proved that public want something entertaining, whcih was earlier given by Zism and Raaz ( Low budget movies) genre. There is only one defination of a Hit movie. All the concerned
( Producer, director, Distributor) must make
money out of it.And in Andaaz everybody incluiding pirates are making good money. : :stupid:
