Urmila & AB Jnr are credited on various sites on doing the Mehbooba song in the new Sholay.

Now, it's Ram Gopal Varma Ke Aag

This one may come a surprise.

Ram Gopal Varma's version of Ramesh Sippy's 1975 classic Sholay is no longer called Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay. It has been changed to Ram Gopal Varma Ke Aag.

Apparently, the negotiations with the original title-holders of the film -- the Sippys -- have failed and now, Ramu has renamed his film.

According to sources, even the names of the characters have changed. Gabbar Singh's name has been changed to Baban Singh, Basanti to Ghungroo, Radha to Devi, Soorma Bhopali to Rambhabhai, and Sambha to Tambhe.

Will Jai and Veeru also be named differently? Lets wait and watch.

I thought shooting for the film had wrapped up. If that's indeed the case, I think it would be a lot of work to go back and re-dub everything with new character names, and I don't know that it's work that Varma would want to put in. Also, I was under the impression that (in Hindi films) any title could be used again after a period of ten years; I'm pretty sure it says so on the film certificates shown before the start of all movies. It's possible that this story("Ramu's Aag") is true, but it just might turn out to be crap...

I think this is more like Bambbaiyya Hindi-Urdu ??
It's not Punjabi at all.

Let's wait till film releases. It may turn out to be good or may even turn out to be a Box Office Hit ??

A lot of sources now have reported that Varma's film will be titled, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. I don't get it: why the f*** shouldn't a guy be allowed to use the title "Sholay" ten years after it was last used. It's a preposterous situation.

Raj Kapoor used to register same titles of RK films as soon as they were about to expire after 10 years. So none of the movies had the same movie name as RK films till he was alive. Correct me if I am wrong.

I am not sure if same applys for Sholay or not.

I am so afraid that Amitabh will end up more of a caricature rather than a fearsome villain. He'll end up overacting and hamming I fear :(
